that's why are morality didn't came from the Bible, I don't know about others but my morality comes from sympathy and reason.
"A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death." - Albert Einstein
“If we choose not to kill simply because we read in the bible that we shouldn't, how do chimps know not to kill their siblings? What makes them protect their group and share their food? How do they know?? I think that animal instincts account a lot for our morals. And culture accounts for the rest, since humans are the most advanced animals who philosophies the most about their actions.” - kirstyward17

Very interesting question. First, morality doesn't come from the Bible, it comes from God. God defines what is good or bad. The Holy Bible is merely a tool, a means for communicating God's truth to mankind.
As for the question of why "primitive tribes" or those who have not heard of Jesus, there are two major reasons why they do not tear themselves apart. The first reason is sociological. People, just like animals, have the innate impulse and desire to ensure the survival of the species as well as the community they are a part of. They will join into groups for protection and procreation. They will form "laws" in order to help further their group. This, however, does not mean they are moral because they may still not be following God's laws.
The second reason is psychological. People have an innate understanding and urge to be in communion with God. We all recognize that there must be more "out there" than can be explained on a rational, scientific level. Some groups believe(d) different forces were controlled by different beings (eg. polytheism) where as others were aware of one being as the source of all (eg. monotheism). Regardless, of one or many, these groups understood what many in our "advanced" culture deny, that is, that our actions have consequences. Therefore, they would not want to anger their deity.
Thankfully, God decided to enter into communion with the Jewish people and set His laws for all to follow.

In response to Perky_gurl and the person who responded to her...
Perky_gurl is quite correct about the blood lust of Christianity designed to keep its ideals intact and flourishing. The Witch Trials raged throughout Europe over the span of 300 years and during that time at least 9,000,000 people were murdered accused of a crime they did not commit. This number is just under half of the amount of people it is estimated that Hitler killed during the Holocaust. Now, factor into that the Holy Crusades and other such banners of ignorance. Christianity has indeed done more than its share in killing in the name of ignorance and hatred, masked by "God said so."
Morality does not stem from the Bible. Morality is not always a case of common sense either. If everyone had "common" sense, stupid things like this would not be happening. People would not be dying over hair curlers and french fries.
I truly wish that Christians would do some research into such things before they just spout out Bible verses that support their current state of thinking. Christianity has done horrible, unspeakable things since its conception and if people could only learn from the past, we might just be able to save the future.

Just so "Perkygirl" knows, Christians have not killed more than any other group. Ever since their conception over 1300 years ago, Muslims slaughtered many, just because they were not Muslims. Joseph Smith and his band of murderers killed many who refused Mormonism.
But, people from all corners of the earth will have a chance to hear about God. They also have a chance to seek Him, considering the fantastic universe we live in.
Morality is spoken and mandated in the Bible, but those written words are not the origin of morality. Even the word of God was not written for a long time and after it was, the common man did not have his own copy of the Torah. So, precepts had to be taught and passed on through the generations.
For the few "primitive" peoples left, how many of them have true morals? Some would kill outsiders and others practice cannibalism. Some, even less primitive tribes, are rampant with disease because of promiscuity.

Fist, morality does NOT come from the Bible 'cause I'm more moral than half the people in MY SCHOOL!!! (And I'm an Atheist and they're all religious) I mean they're all having sex and not even with their bf/gfs...they're doing drugs, smoking, drinking...and I don't...I mean...it' saddening after a night of drinking, smoking, and f*cking that they go to school and say "I'm a good moral Christian" ********!!! And most of these tribes that haven't heard of Jesus are better off than most of the world at least spiritually since there's no Christians hanging over their heads saying crap....

Just because man has sunk so low as to have forgotten God, does not mean he does not exist. Just look at the US! We have forgotten God, and kicked him out of everything and anything since the mid 60's. Jessu knew there were many tribes that did not know him or his Father . This is why he gave this commandment..Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come... So you see everyone including primitive tribes will have a chance to accept Jesus. How about you? Come to Christ!

Morality and the bible or morality and religion have very little to do with each other.
All religions and all ethical systems have more or less the same rules of conduct: do unto others as you would have them do unto you; don't lie, cheat, steal or be cruel; act to increase the happiness and decrease the unhappiness of others. These basic ethical rules exist in nearly all societies.
The rules of conduct that come specifically from religions are often the ones that cause the most conflict and misery: rules that constrain the education and treatment of women; rules that govern sexual behavior; rules that govern embryos (stem cell research and abortion). These rules vary widely among religions and they are mostly arbitrary and illogical and do nothing to increase the sum of human happiness -- often quite the opposite.

Because deities and religion are not needed for a person or a society to be moral and just. A society with a good rule structure based on common sense will keep that society in check without hanging superstitions over their heads to do so.

Morality doesn't come from anyone's scripture.
Even my pets know when they've done something wrong, and they haven't read nor heard the bible.
Jesus cursed a fig tree once, one must assume the fig tree knew better than to not have fruit available when god walked by.
It's intrinsic to being alive.
Blessed Be!

Morality comes from the bible? Seriously? So all people were immoral before it was written? And people who haven't read it are all immoral?
Uh, right....
Here's a moral from the bible: if a woman is raped, the rapist has to pay fifty shekels of silver to her father, and the rape victim has to marry her attacker and spend the rest of her life with him. Nice, isn't it?
