Of course i dont respect their beliefs since they are absurd...i would respect them if they didnt stand on the way of legalization of gay marriage, if their priests never molested any child, if there were no wars promoted by so called "christian" countries...
In "respecting other people´s beliefs" should we include the beliefs of those who crashed a plane into the Twin Towers???

I agree.

Almost everyone who complains about not having his/her beliefs "respected" is someone whose beliefs are wrong, and more likely, ridiculous.

Right and wrong matter, and no matter how much the Christians complain about it, I'm not going to start pretending that they don't.

That question is a hot-potato in the political correct world today.

It seems those that flew those planes into the buildings had a strong belief in god and what they were doing but that doesn't mean that all people of their faith interpret it the same way.

Much the same as not all christians interpret their scripture the same way, hence the numerous varieties of christian churches you see in the world.

I'm opposed to any book which advocates this sort of violence even if it has 'good parts' too.

Is God a respecter of man? Some believe things out of convenience...and not having to make scarifies.

Microwave religions. Quick and easy.

Man sins and blame is a individual choice. God forgives and he knows every ones intent and heart.

You do not have to be a priest to molest a child!
You do not have to be a Muslim to crash a plane through the twin towers.

Have you really known a country that was all Christians?

Is legalization of gay marriages and other things you mentioned the only problem between God and man?

If one just did not do this are that according to and individuals standards will you would give them respect. The commandments say....Do not kill
Do not covet.
Do not lie
Love your neighbor as yourself...are foreign countries are neighbors; are we not a neighbor to them...yet we abuse others as they abuse us.

You kill my cat I squash your dog..it is a never ending cycle. Does man deserve respect. 1 Corinthians 13. What is Love.
Absurd? Man is; if he seeks forgiveness he can cover a multitude of sins. Pray for wisdom and pray for peace of mind for all men and women. Every nation and kingdom....

Christian religions thinks that it has all of the answers to life when that is not the case att all.The church today's is nothing but a small selfish creature and a bunch of bigots who think that only thy are going to some kind of heaven and everyone else is going to some wild ridiculous kind of hell that does not exist except in the heart of bigots and mental migits. It just goes to show that humanity has a long evolutionary journey ahead of it at this time.

I respect the fact they believe what they believe, but I don't respect the belief itself...just like if someone believed the sky was orange, I'd respect the fact that they believed it, but I wouldn't respect the belief, and Christians say that they respect, but they don't, and they expect everyone to do it to them....from what I see.

None of those innovations contradict the concept of omniscience. while God questions Adam and Eve in Genesis, it is not because of the fact he does not understand what they did or the place they are. that's because of the fact he needs to offer them a huge gamble to describe themselves, to insurrection or be repentant. while God expresses approval over the state of the universe, it does not mean marvel. while my mom makes spaghetti, i are conscious of it is going to style stable yet my foreknowledge does not provide up me from announcing "mmmm, stable." God is mad at Adam and Eve because of the fact they chosen to sin. understanding that somebody's going to do some thing to wreck you makes you mad; you're nonetheless madder while they ultimately carry the act out and you may witness it. Adam and Eve weren't in straightforward terms "behaving how he made them," they have been making undesirable alternatives. God gave us loose will, yet that doesn't advise his prefer is to make undesirable alternatives.

One should not have to respect that which one finds foolish and stupid or a threat to ones personal safety. Just because I don't respect something doesn't mean I think it should be outlawed of forbidden.

It is not the beliefs you have to respect, it is other people's right to have their ridiculous beliefs.

i usually think that what 'respect other beliefs' is supposed to mean is, respect their right to have beliefs. that is, realise that one can't force them to believe as one might like. what it does NOT mean is that one has to nod politely and smile as they explain how cannibalism is a virtue, for example.
