If you want a quality, low cost, effective grill that actually works extremely well you must go with a basic weber grill. I use mine several times a week. It also can double as a smoker with a little practice. Something else that you may be surprised at that works maybe even better is a big tarra cotta pot, then just bye a grill to set on top, You'll be surprised how well this can work.

Decent & cheap pull you in opposite directions.
Probably the cheapest are still the charcoal kind.
Get the Ball lid if you really want to BBQ not grill.
You can get little Hibachi grills if that's all you need.
Try major stores like Wal-Mart or Home-Depot.

I have to agree that decent and cheap are not gonna work, but I had a smoker/grill that I bought for like 19.99 and I did more on that then I could have with anything else. To be honest.....it's not the grill as much as it is the cook.

Get a Weber kettle grill. The smaller one costs a bit less. I think Amazon.com has a pretty good price on them.
