I've found that Advantage DOES take up to three days to get all the fleas off a cat. It's ok that it's in the fur, it works there too, though having it on the skin is the preferred way.
Don't dose her again, just let it work a while. Advantage is a good product. Keep combing her, but don't comb over the area you dosed her at, you want the stuff to stay on her as long as possible.

Here's the non-toxic method. Use a pie pan or similar container and place it on the floor in the room where the kitten sleeps. add a few drops of dish detergent and enough water to fill it half way. Suspend a light over this pan on the floor. ( A clamp light on the leg of a chair will work.) Turn it on at night, with other lights in the home off, Fleas will jump at the light, and fall into the soapy water, where they will drown. The soap is essential or the fleas will be able to escape the water, or the cat might drink it. In the morning, count the number of fleas before you wash them down the drain. The next night, repeat this process until no fleas are collected. Use in each room for at least one night to catch any that may have migrated. There may be eggs, so keep trapping for a couple weeks to be sure you get all the little bloodsuckers.

Advantage does not repel fleas. You will continue to see new fleas for several weeks at least, until they hatch out of the environment and all die. This won't happen overnight. It is OK according to the manufacturer, to apply a second dose in 2 weeks. It is very safe because it doesn't get absorbed into the bloodstream--it just stays on top of the skin. Consider treating your home with something to kill fleas eggs in order to hurry the process along.

I gotta say,,, I like that name Rosie..bravo
now with the fleas...you are applying a pestiside to your pet..and, it will not work..you will make your cat sick.
and, by the way...you say kitten...how old is she? another problem, applying pestiside.
ok...here goes, always go to the root of the problem..are fleas in your home? (then take everything out plants animals kids etc.)..put the temp on 90f for l whole day...that will kill the fleas that are in your home..(dont bomb it is a dangerous poison) vaccuum...perhaps twice per day...boric landry detergent works to kill fleas, if you dont want the heat routine...(it is not easy to get rid of fleas), but, you can do it if you are diligent, and keep you kitten indoors...also, feed your kitten the best of food...not the cheap brands, as, most of those brands are from diseased animals that are killed for food...(try organic)...the fleas are attracted to the bad food that the kitten is eating (if this is the case)...paul newman has a new organic food line that is excellent.
best wishes

Sometimes the fleas get resistant to a certain brand. Wash her with Dawn detergent and use a flea comb. Next month switch to Frontline instead. Then in a few months you can switch back to Advanatge.

I agree with the switching of brands. I use advantage for a couple months then i switch back to frontline then in a couple more months i do the same thing. Dont use another dosage on her this month. I would wash her in joy soap. Its smothers all the fleas and its safe for kittens too!

advantage is vet purchased and can be harmful if double treatment is applied. I would check with a vet and see what recommendations he/she would give.
