Like Conan and Leno, you know how some guests decide to stay for the second half of the show and others decide to just leave? Why do the ones who stay decide to stay and why do the ones who leave decide to leave? Sorry if it's a stupid question, I've just always been curious about that.

Some shows routinely feature one guest at a time (David Letterman and Craig Ferguson) while others have guests
remain after their segments (Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel)
In the latter format, guests often leave due to other committments.

scheduling not different that you
sometimes you stay till the end of the party and sometimes you leave early

It just depends on their schedule. Sometimes they just have other things that they have to get to.
