I agree with the person who suggested it was a microchip. Is it raised up? or is it just a flat red area. I can't tell from the picture. If it is flat and red it might be a ringworm because it is such a nice pink.
Warts are usually on the ears or mouth of dogs not just in the fur. Cancers are hard like a dried bean or pea not squishy like a grape, so feel the consistency of it before you get too concerned. Is that on the back of the neck area? It could be a reaction to a flea topspot too. Injection locations do leave lumps, but they don't usually loose hair.

It looks like a small follicular cyst, or possibly a histiocytoma (a kind of benign- non-cancerous- tumour). Your pictures are quite blurry though, and nobody can give you a truly reliable answer without seeing your dog. Just out of interest, what breed is your dog, and how old is s/he?
It's best to get any lump checked- it is probably nothing to worry about, but it's always better to err on the side of caution. Your vet may well look at it and decide it's fine and that nothing further needs to be done. If they think it needs to be looked at, they will probably do a fine-needle aspirate (FNA)- basically involves putting a small needle into it (the dog hardly seems to feel it) and getting some cells out to examine under a microscope. If it is benign, then nothing needs to be done about it unless your dog is bothered by it and it scratching at it.
Don't be scared :o) Call your vet and set your mind at rest. Hope that helps.

Could be a cyst, a tumor, or even a foreign body such as a parasite.
Most lumps and bumps on dogs are benign, but that doesn't mean they can't grow bigger and bigger or bleed or get infected. It's worth going to the vet to find out what it is.

It looks like a cyst or papilloma (benign wart-like growth). ANY bumps should be checked out by a vet!

Hi Kelly, On any bump of any kind you need to have a vet check that spot out. I could be nothing or it could be something you don't want to hear. If you love your pet you will take him or he to the vet.

I would take it to the vet and get it checked out cause it's hard to say what it might be. Better safe than sorry right!

Is it a tick? If it looks infected, i would go to the vet.
I will tell you, my dad took his 5 year old small collie type dog to the vet to get a cyst (it was harmless) removed, and they accidentally gave him too much anesthetic and killed him. So if you do take him to a vet and they say it is nothing, don't risk having it removed.
Good luck, i hope all is good with your pup. :)

If she is biting it, it could be a hotspot. Mine just had one and i put gold bond babypowder on it. i did take him to the vet and they gave me pills.
if it is a hotspot,( just another word for yeastinfection) dont worry. With the heat and all its okay. just make sure that when she is wet (even just a little) to dry her totally off.
