find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Well not all cheap food is bad. You could go to the supermarket and buy a bag of apples, and a healthy cereal for a snack, instead of junk food. Also there are exercises that you can do, that should not interfere with your injury, such as sit ups or maybe push-ups. The beer may be the biggest problem. When i stopped drinking i lost 10 pounds, and saved A LOT of money! The main thing is how much you are eating. Try to cut your servings in half and eat extra vegetables and fruit.
Hope this helps!!!

i know alot of people that this has happen to. the best thing to do is cut down dont drink beer if you wanna drink then drink something other than beer it has alot of useless calories and has yeast in it which will make you bloat, i know it might be hard but ive noticed that it puts alot of weight on myself so i stoped which helped alotttt. definitely stop drinking sodas if you want to drink a soda drink diet it helps. cut out all the sweets no candy and cake etc it will be hard at first but once you stop you wont crave it anymore, eat that every now and then eat a very low fat lunch and breakfast and for dinner eat a nice good healthy dinner not like pizza or fast food you dont have to go out and eat a nasty salad you can eat something else like grilled chicken and eat some fruits and vegetables or just something thats not fried and i promise you should loose some weight and you'll get use to the way your eating most likely and keep the weight off. just remember you have control of what you eat so if you tell yourself you can do it then you can girl!! good luck!!!

Diet and exercise (it's that always the answer?!?) Weight watchers (point plan) is good bet because no food is really "off limits" you just have to eat things in moderation. The other weight watcher one is the "core plan" which is you can only eat certain foods, but you can have as much as you need of them. Exercise is important also, but hard when your in school. Try taping your classes and listen to them while you walk, or study on the treadmill, better yet, take a exercise class (as p.e or something) and get fit and get credits! That's all I got. I really hope that helps (no, I really do because I start college is fall lol!)
Oh, and a great snack is dried fruit and nuts. The dried fruit has sugar in (which gives you and energy boost) and the nuts have protein (which keeps your blood sugar from crashing) It's better then a Snickers bar! And a good motivation is only let yourself drink if you exercised that day. A diet "hard mikes" only has like 15 calories in it.

Skip the beer and soda for starters. Switch to diet soda (it will taste bad to you if your not used to it, but you'll learn to love it). If you are going to drink, drink rum & Diet Coke. Drink a lot of water (shoot for a gallon a day if possible). Cut your carbs (that means skipping the bread, cereal, pasta, and sugar). Use splenda instead of sugar. Eat salads, veggies like broccoli and cauliflower, hard cooked eggs, turkey, and grilled chicken. Snack on nuts and celery with natural peanut butter.
If you're going to eat something with a lot of carbs (like pasta) eat it all in one sitting and eat really low carb foods the rest of the day and don't make a habit of doing it everyday. If you can restrict your carbohydrate intake to less than about 20 grams per day for a a few weeks (you'll have to skip the pasta and sugar), you can easily lose a pound of fat a day.

it's going to take longer to lose it than it did to put it on in all likely hood and of course cut out the junk food and soda it's empty calories that don't help your body at all and just add to what your taking in, you can do light exercises even with an injured foot, like using weights for your arms , you have to eat healthier and probably keep track of your calories, but you dont' want to eliminate everything you like to eat because you'll only feel deprived. and the cheapest healthy food is often food you cook yourself. If you don't know how, it's time to learn.

find healthier things to snack on -- there are plenty of substitutions out there. things like pretzels and animal cookies aren't good for you but they don't pack on the weight either. drink tea and not soda. mostly you are just learning to not do anything but accept convenience really fast. anything that comes to you is not good for you. stop ordering out and get out and get your own stuff at the grocery store. you can eat cheap and healthy. a box of pasta and a bag of frozen veggies makes a better dinner than anything you are eating now. cook some chicken and cut it up and put some olive oil on it and you have dinner for 4 nights for not much money at all.
its a good time to learn how to cook -- when you cook you watch calories for yourself a whole lot better than anyone else is going to watch calories for you.

Skip the desserts and alcohol. When the foot is healed, try swimming or an exercycle.
Good luck!
