Okay lifeguarding at the Y I got a lot of strange tips for when not feeling too well by the patrons...most of them are older....in any event try gargling warm gatorade (warm in the microwave for a few seconds). yes i know it sounds weird it is a lot like gargling warm salt water but it tastes a lot better. Take over the counter meds like tylenol and ibuprofen. You can alternate them so you can fight in two ways. tylenol is good for 4 hours while ibuprofen is good for 8. keep yourself hydrated and try to get comfortable. any throat lozenges might help but I would have to go with Chloraseptic spray for the numbing effect.
Good luck and get well!!

Tylenol makes a line of liquids called Tylenol Sore Throat they have a nightime and daytime formula. This is the ONLY thing that I have found besides liquid Chloraseptic (not the spray) that helps relieve sore throats. Vicks honey lemon sore throat lozenges and fisherman's friend sore throat lozenges work as well, all of these taste horrible. Tylenol also makes a Tylenol Multi Sympton Cold And Flu Severe (I think that's the name of it) that will give you immediate relief, like as soon as you swallow it. Good luck to you!

Sweety, you really should stay home. It sounds like you have strep throat or a bad virus. Just tell your mom or dad everything you just posted on here. Right now the important thing to do is lay in bed and get some rest. Now go tell your parents that you're not feeling good.

otc pain relievers and yeah i have to gargle salt water now and then and it's horrible, but it's works, make sure the water is warm too. try eating soups and the like and stay away from food you really have to work on swallowing because it'll only aggrevate your symptoms.

Drink hot tea or hot chocolate. Also eat toast or scratchy foods because it will help to clean the area infected.
