The Pope is losing touch with reality. I suppose if the Protestants should begin hiring child molesters for their pastors. This seems to be what the Pope is saying is the "Normal Religion".

How perverted has the Catholic church become? Does it now include all priests from the Pope down????? Do they REALLY support Pedophiles????? How say.

I wouldn't be a Catholic for any amount of money not would I attend one of their so called "perfect churches" and listen to one of their "perfect Priest" preach......DO WHAT I SAY AND NOT WHAT I DO!!! Pops

You know, one of my best friends is a priest. A true man of God! Not focused upon himself but, upon his flock. Now, even so, He would NEVER proclaim what the Pope proclaimed! No way!

I was reared as a Protestant and by no means has this priest ever treated me as though I am not a part of the Church! In fact, he respects my faith!

So, I would have to say that Pope Benedict needs to step down and study the scriptures with his Catholic glasses off!

No the pope will be standing with the rest of us on Judgment day , he is nothing more than a man in a suit in a building belonging to an earthly organization. He by no means represents God. He represents what happens to man when they allow pride and power rule there hearts rather than Jesus.

Of course he is. If he wasnt for real how could he make a statement. Fake people just dont talk.

And of course he is going to claim His church is the only real church. why would anyone want to be part of a church that was false? If they thought it was false why would they believe it?

If you are going to choose between believing something that is true and something that is false what would you choose? Why would you be surprised that people would say they believe the truth?

Most Christian denominations believe that each of them is the fullest version of the Church of Christ.

While the Catholic Church also believes that she is "the highest exemplar" of the mystery that is the Church of Christ, she does not claim that non-Catholic Churches are not truly Christian. The Catholic Church teaches:

Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.

Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.

All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

Oh Yea...They are THE REAL CHURCH.
Just going about "GOD'S" work here on Earth...

LOS ANGELES - Cardinal Roger Mahony, leader of the nation's largest Roman Catholic archdiocese, apologized Sunday to the hundreds of people who will get a share of a $660 million settlement over allegations of clergy sex abuse.

"There really is no way to go back and give them that innocence that was taken from them. ... The one thing I wish I could give the victims, I cannot," he said.

"Once again, I apologize to anyone who has been offended, who has been abused. ... It should not have happened and should not ever happen again."

We shouldn't be surprised by this, it has been basic Catholic dogma since its inception. Vatican 2 softened it a little, but it is their basic belief concerning those outside the "mother" church.

The pope is irrelevant. Much like the British royal family.
