It doesn't really matter the breed. But my budget is 50-150 (for adoption or rescue)

I'm buying a dog for my sister as a birthday present (she is 6). I don't have a lot of money to spend on the actual dog, but I do have a plan for care/health costs for the dog. So no lectures are needed.

I'd rather rescue a dog, then shell out a huge amount of cash to a breeder.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Considering it's just my sister and I, I'm going to have to say yes. Everyone is on board.

A pet is such a great gift for a little sister, and you're such a great big sister to give her such a gift. There are a lot of places that have amazing dogs and puppies.

If you know what breed you're looking for then do a google search including the word rescue before it. There are usually specific rescues for each breed. :) It takes a bit of time to look through the sites and find your perfect pooch but I'm sure you will!

Just make sure you mention it's for a child....as some dogs can't be rehomed with children. :D Good luck!! It's such a fun process..

surely a bullmastiff, they're beautiful. I even have had 2, my modern lady is 5 years previous and lightweight fawn. they have such magnificent faces, my bullmastiff (jessie) sits on chairs like a human and joins in if we sing alongside to a musical. they're additionally very honest with toddlers yet are very alert shield canines, their shield instinct is quite stable. If I have been you i might keep away from the Neapolitan, those are the main aggressive of the mastiff breeds and the sole mastiffs which should not be left with toddlers unsupervised, and whether they are no longer as vast as an English mastiff, they're very vast canines, a lot greater than a bully or a rottweiler.
