Buy a mk3 turbo supra and then install an aftermarket turbo. I think since the car comes turbo the pistons and internal parts are made to withstand the stress of the turbo. Or buy a Non turbo supra and then buy a turbo kit. I don't know if this is a good idea because I think the car isn't made to withstand a turbo. This may cause a big problem when it comes to alot of boost and psi. I don't know much about the engines and are the supra engine identical and the turbo one just has a turbo? The 7mge is the nonturbo and the 7mgte is the turbo charged engine. If there identical engine then can't I just buy a nonturbo and install a aftermarket turbo because even if i buy a turbo supra then I'm still going to change the turbo kit. Plus the non turbo model cost less as well.

One of the main differences between turbo charged (supercharged also) and naturally aspirated id the compression ratio. if you where to put a turbo on a normal 9.5 to 1 engine you would have to run race gas to keep the detonation in check.
Not to mention the boost referencing etc.

On this link it does not seem like a good idea to add a turbo to a non turbo car. It's probably a good idea to just buy one with a turbo that way you know the car can stand up to the turbo and all the conections are all ready there so you can just change it with out the hassel. In the long run it will probably cost you the same amount of money.

Hello
You can put a turbo on a non turbo Supra. This is done all the time. Even the 5m engines can be retrofitted with a turbo. Check out this website for more info.

The engines are not the same.
A turbo installation is a design package.
If you change the turbo, you'd better know what you're doing or you'll buy yourself trouble.
