Small amount of apple cider vinegar and a few drops of dish washing liquid, mix well and fruit flies will be attracted to this. Just found the perfect solution. Thanks everybody-BW

Set out fruit fly traps where you find them. Clean out your drains (use bleach). They lay eggs in damp places. Scrub down any areas where food might be, especially corners and under appliances, etc.

Make sure nothing gets left out to feed them...

I never have fruit flies unless I leave fresh fruit sitting on the counter. PUT the fruit in the fridge or keep tightly covered. Set out a shallow dish of cider vinegar and the flies will drown in it. Any stray ones can be "hunted down" with a spray of 409.

i had this same problem and kept having to throw the fruit away!! so i started putting the fruit in the refrigerator and that was the smartest idea! the flies never got to it and they were good and cold when i got to eat them!
