Jerry Van Dyke and Ann Souther maybe the silliest show ever made.
I was three years old in 1965 when the big north east black out hit right in the middle of My Mother the Car. Two days later when the lights came back on I was so upset that the TV did not pick up right where it left off in the middle of the show that I cried for days.
For years it was considered the worst show ever made, but it was replaced recently according to TV Guide by the Jerry Springer Show

I believe the show starred Jerry Van Dyke and Anne Southern voiced the mother who had died and came back to give him advice through the radio in his car.

Sadly, yes I am old enough to remember this show. It may not have been the best show on tv, but I remember laughing a lot and thinking it was pretty good.

I only saw it once, the premise was that this guy played by Jerry Van Dyke, his mother died and her spirit was in this old jalopy car. The funny thing was that Jerry Van Dyke had a chance to star in Gilligan's Island (as Gilligan) and he passed on that to do My Mother The Car, because he thought Gilligan's Island was too silly and wouldn't last.

Sure, it starred Jerry Van Dyke and the mother/car voice was Ann Southern.
