Ask a recruiter about the Delayed Entry Program. It will let you sign up and not ship for basic until the job you want and qualify for is open.

The recruiter can use FSR2S to reserve you a job, if it is not available, they can call the ROC to have the job loaded, The MEPS can also do the same thing. If all else fails, take the 1st thing with a late ship date and then re-negotiate your contract after the fact. All of the above is possible and I know this for a fact for I am an Active Duty Recruiter.

wait until it has opened up.. just be aware that you can only be in DEP for 12 months, and if it doesn't open up before then, you will either have to ship with something else, or be dropped entirely, making it harder to get back in later on.

you would have to do a lateral move if you are already in but if not your better off waiting it out and not letting your recruiter push you into something else. believe me he/she WILL try !
