i dont see the point (well if you really believe what you say, that is)...i just compare it to someone saying that i dont live in the city i live...i wouldnt discuss about it because since i know the truth about where do i live i dont give a dam about anyone else beliving that i live elsewhere.

dont say you want to share, because the best way of sharing is by sharing and not so much talking...compared to me saying i will share my cake with you but just saying it and not sharing any cake

Conversely... why do you debate the opposite view?... *IF* you are so sure of your belief system as well.... It's a two way street... one can't "debate" if there is no other side... I think that perhaps you are being a bit disingenuous and are trying to shoo off those that don't hold your views so that you don't have to defend them... It's like the Global Warming Debates... the Chicken Little Idiots that believe in Man Caused Climate Change, continually try to shut down debate and ignore facts that are opposing their world view.... much like you are here....

Because it is a command, that's why.

1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; 16 yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

Even if I know the truth about something I still like hearing peoples opinions in order to see what the rest of the human race believes. People are very interesting in what they believe nowadays, it's easy to see that the education system is a goner.

Christians don't gain satisfaction from "I'm right, you're wrong" Its only a matter of caring about others that we face ridicule on a daily basis

If you and you're friends were going out, and you were the only one that watched the weather report, would you tell them it was going to rain, or would you be the only one with an umbrella?

Christians are not to debate as to argue..

We are commissioned by Christ to witness to others, and give what we know is truth. But then I believe we are to let God do the rest.

We get it from all angles. If we talk about salvation we are supposed to be talking fairy tales. If we start talking about Hell we are Nazis.

So the reason why I talk about it is because there are rare occurances where there is someone who wants to know God and doesn't yet. God uses us to spread the message. He doesn't need us to, but He wants us to.

So that's why. To spread the word to those who want to know God.

Better question - if its about faith, why are they arguing facts?

Its FAITH people... by collecting ideas and facts for the purpose of argument... isn't this an attempt to bypass faith and remove it entirely, instead being supported by proof?

The purpose of debate is not to convince yourself, but to convince others.
