"So far as we can tell from Scripture, the present hell, Hades, is somewhere in the heart of the earth itself. It is also called "the pit" (Isa. 14:9, 15: Ezek. 32:18-21) and "the abyss" (Rev. 9:2). . . the Biblical descriptions are quite matter of fact. The writers certainly themselves believed hell to be real and geographically ‘beneath’ the earth’s surface. . .
To say this is not scientific is to assume science knows much more about the earth’s interior than is actually the case. The great ‘pit’ [hell] would only need to be about 100 miles or less in diameter to contain, with much room to spare, all the forty billion or so people who have ever lived, assuming their "spiritual" bodies are the same size as their physical bodies."
(Henry M. Morris, The Bible Has the Answer, p. 220)
Suffice to say, the inner core could easily incarcerate every lost soul since Adam, with room to spare for the angels mentioned in 2 Peter 2:4 and Jude 1:6.

Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
Isaiah 5:14
Another very interesting aspect of the inner core was recently discovered by Harvard Geophysicst Adam Dziewonski. The Harvard Gazette carried an article titled, Putting a New Spin on Earth's Core, rcording Dr. Dziewonski’s unusual discovery:

The metallic core of our planet is spinning faster than the rest of it, according to evidence unearthed by Harvard geologists. And this hellishly hot core, almost as big as the moon, apparently is growing in size.
(Cromie, William J. Putting a New Spin on Earth's Core, Harvard Gazette, )

Hmmm. . . "This hellishly hot core. . . is growing in size."

Seems like I’ve read somewhere that "hell hath enlarged herself. . . "

Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
Isaiah 5:14
After ridiculing the Bible’s picture of hell, Shawna Vogel admits science "also hears the rumble of the fire in the earth" in her book, Naked Earth:The New Geophysics:

Today’s scientists also hear the rumble of fire within the earth, though not as Anaxagoras encountered it. They know that it isn’t the crack of lightening from subterranean clouds or the roar of beats within, but the sound of molten rock. No longer the stuff of myth, the earth’s internal cracks and pops have become state-of-the art tools.
(Vogel, Shawna. Naked Earth:The New Geophysics, p. 5)
Make no mistake about it – there is something down there. And it’s no massive ball.

In conclusion, it must be emphasized we do not at present fully understand the workings of the Earth’s dynamo. . . there are many unanswered questions.
(J. A. Jacobs, Deep Interior of the Earth, p. 111)
"Of all regions of earth none invites speculation more than that which lies beneath our feet, and in none is speculation more dangerous; yet, apart from speculation, it is little that we can say regarding the constitution of the interior of the earth.
(Bruce A. Bolt, Inside the Earth, p. 10)

According to Jesus Christ the souls of tormented people, weeping, screaming, wailing, and gnashing their teeth, are "Really at the Center of the Earth?"

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Jesus Christ, Matthew 10:28

And in hell he lift up his eyes. . .
Jesus Christ, Luke 16:23

Jesus Christ says in Mark 9:43-47:

43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
Jesus Christ took hell so serious — He could say without the slightest hesitation — to remove your eye, cut off your hand or foot, if that would keep you out of hell!

If hell is not real — Jesus Christ was the most deceived man that ever lived!

I’ll challenge anyone to read the words of Jesus Christ and tell me they are the words of a deceived man!

Jesus Christ knew exactly what He was talking about!

Jesus Christ spoke more on hell than any other subject.

No wonder Jesus Christ said in Mark 8:36:

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mark 8:36:
God has something far better than words can describe for those who love Him. I Corinthians 2:9 says:

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.
Corinthians 2:9
Friend, there is a place called hell! And, if you continually refuse God's gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ — just as sure as you live and breathe — ONE DAY YOU WILL WAKE UP IN HELL!

Don't wait until you die to find out the truth about Hell! Tomorrow may be too late! Proverbs 27:1 says, "Boast not thyself of tomorrow: for thou KNOWEST NOT what a day may bring forth."

Three people die every second, 180 every minute, since you started reading this — 2000 more people have gone into eternity! An automobile accident. . . A heart attack. . , A stroke. . .One thing is CERTAIN — you will DIE — today. . . tomorrow . . . a week. . . a month . . . a year. . . 5 years. . . 10 years. . . 20 years. . . 50 years — ONE THING IS CERTAIN —" . . .it is appointed unto man once TO DIE

The English word Hell in the Bible is translated from the Hebrew word "she'ohl" and the Greek equivalent "Hai'des", which refer, not to an individual burial place, or a place of torment but to the common grave of mankind, also the Greek word "ge'en-na" which is used as a SYMBOL of eternal destruction. Jesus is said to have been in hell for 3 days, what do we know of this? Yes he was in his grave (or tomb) for 3 days before he was resurrected. The faithful man Jacob prayed to go to hell when he thought his son had died, yes he wanted to die cause the pain of losing his son was too much for him to bear. There are many instances of people going to hell in the Bible but are we really to think that Jesus went into some place were sinners are supposedly tortured for ever and ever. What about Jacob would he have prayed to go to this horrendous place, or would he just have wanted to die as so many of us do when we are suffering grief. When we examine the meaning behind the translated words, we discover exactly what hell is. This is why searching for this mythical place will bring forth a zillion different theories as they'll never find it, cause it's simply not there. However why didn't the churches tell their followers this simple truth, cause they were ruling with fear and even getting people to pay their way out of hell and pergatory. WOW WHAT A MONEY SPINNER! Jehovah's witnesses can help explain these false teachings, if anyone would like help in that matter.

First it would help for you to use the actual words instead of Hell.

Lake of fire - a purification
Ghenna - an actual place
Hades - place of the dead
Sheol - the grave or unseen

Generally when Jesus spoke of 'hell' it was the garbage dump in Ghenna. Not a very nice end but very much not like the hell you propose.

I suggest you first start by doing a word study every time you see 'hell' to see what the real word is and what it means.

Compare your verses in the KJV with the NASB and the actual greek and hebrew.

Also read the whole chapter you pull the verses from.

Scaring someone into faith is not faith at all my friend. Our God does not want people to follow him because they don't want to go to the hell you describe, he wants them to follow him because they love him.

What is truth?

you are trying to explain the unexplainable - throughout the New Testament, Jesus kept saying, "The kingdom is heaven is like..." because the listeners did not have the experience or the language to understand the concept of heaven

Ditto hell. First of all, it's not a place. It exists on a spiritual level outside of time - now try and use vocabulary to deal with THAT concept. So over the years, people have tried, as best they could, to explain the concept.

Don't take the image for the reality. Heaven is not a field - it is LIKE a field, where a farmer found a great pearl. Hell is NOT a place of great fire - but it is a place of suffering and penance.

And if you want to reach people - learn to edit. No one - including me - is going to read the full length of what you wrote.

I think that there is room for some speculation in what you wrote. But you do seem to have studied the subject a bit. The way I tend to phrase it is: Hell is a place where nothing else is.

It might be at the center of the Earth, it might not be. But since I am not going there for all eternity I don't have to worry about it. I would rather bring the Gospel to people, and let them decide about Hell.

I am not sure where Hell is I just know I do not want to go there and by the grace of God I do not have to go there. That is a place that God prepared for the devil and his angels. God did not prepare hell for people but so many of us will not be ready when he comes so therefore Jesus will say depart from me I know you not. I want to hear enter into the joys that the Lord has prepared for you. I hope that you make the choice not to go hell. May God lead you the right way.

why is it that you insist that what you are saying is correct? if you believe it, that's fine. no one is stopping you. but dont be so narrow-minded to think that what you are saying is definitely the truth, and dont expect everyone to agree with you. because unless you can prove it, no one will ever know the truth. personally, i dont believe in any of that kind of thing. just stop assuming that you're right, because most likely, it'll end up that none of us had it right all along. i have nothing against christians, but it really begins to bug me when some people try to force others to believe in what they do. if you believe it, fine. just let others believe what they want, okay? because you are not necessarily right. by the way it may interest you to know that the big bang theory is the most widely accepted theory, and it is proven to have happened.
