Let's say (hypothetically of course) that I was a recruit in the delayed entry program who used marijuana on 7/3. My ship date is 8/27. Would a military drug test show that I used during DEP? I've probably smoked about 9 times in the past year (including the time that I wasn't in DEP)

Yes, I know, very stupid mistake. That was however the only time I smoked as a DEPer and most certainly the last. But What would you say are my chances of popping postive? Should I request a delay of my ship date? Should I explain to my recruiter what happend and ask him to test me?

Just don't smoke again and drink lots and lots of h20. get a home drug test kit from one of the local drug stores and check your self out. Remember if you pop when you get to basic your done and you never be able to enlist again. Now if you really do not want to ship then tell your recruiter and do not waste there time. Weed does not take that long to get out of your system as long as you stop go get some cleansing products from a vitamin store and just keep drinking water. honestly you can clean your self up to pass a urine test in about 3-5 days. Look i am not going to judge you just let you know the facts the military does not play when it comes to failing a drug test.

You know while you are in DEP they can test you at ANY time also, not just when you go to MEPS right? You need to lose your habit NOW. And the military does use the most advanced drug test you can have so you need to start to worry especially if you keep up the stoner behavior. You have already sworn in once and with that you agreed to abide by all the rules and regulations so get with the program, grow up and knock off the drug use.

Pot can test positive for up to eight weeks`after use, so you have a`really strong chance of testing positive. What in the hell possessed you to do something so stupid so close to your ship date?! If by some chance you make it through this and get in active duty, do yourself a huge favor and never do it while active duty. You can be called at anytime for a random drug test and pulling a positive is the start of a long, involved and oh so unenjoyable process of deciding if you can stay in or get out with a less than honorable or dishonrable discharge, as well as the very likely possibilty of being brought up on criminal charges. Smarten up!

If they test your hair it will show positive for six months after use. If you are going into uniform next month, why in hell are you using that drug? Your shipmates deserve a sober sailor next to them. Tell your recruiter about your stupidity and save the taxpayers the cost of having to run you out before you finish boot camp.

Well then I would call you an idiot. Why would you even take that chance? Here you are knowingly in the DEP and you smoke some weed?? You couldnt say so??
Yes you have a large possibility that you will pop on the test.

You do not need to be in the military if you cannot refrain from drug use while in DEP. Are you going to continue smoking while in? You need to quit NOW or get out of DEP. There is A ZERO tolerance policy on drug use.

I sure hope so, there is no room for pot smoking drug abusers in the military. If you do not have enough self discipline and enough commitment to abide by the zero tolerance policy, do us all a favor and stay a civilian.

that is just silly. you took an oath, you sign legal documents in regards to not doing anything stupid especially now that you are in the DEP. how did you even get through MEPS? my advice is to smoke again the day before you leave and see what happens. don't be stupid, you're just gonna get yourself into a huge hole in a few years

Are you an idiot? Screw hypothetically, be honest with yourself and others. You knew your shipping date and you think that you can partying with your friends. Let me tell you something, when you (or if) get into the military you are on call 24/7 until the end of your enlistment. You think you will take a couple of weeks leave and party with your friends again? Grow up before you enlist. Nav vet.

They piss test you as soon as you show up to boot camp. If your think about it or have done it your going to get kicked out. I saw it in boot camp with the navy.
