Ok my mom came in this morning and said, "Elizabeth, your dad wants you to mow." Then she said to my brother "And you have to show her where to mow." Well my brother was like we are going to Orlando. And she was like still you have to help. So I was waiting for him to get ready and he was like get out there. So I walked outside and my dad was like where is your brother? And I was like he is coming. And my dad was like ok I will get the one tricky part started. So he did I got on being my 2nd time mowing! And then he was like to my brother you were supposed to show her where to go! And then he got mad at him (my bro) and so then my dad ended up mowing. My brother said it was my....

Sounds like everyone was hot and tired, and no one wanted to do a horrid chore that had to get done. Tempers flared, it happens. Mom is right, you are all to blame. But so is she for putting you two in that position. Your brother should have done as he was asked and help keep you on the right track, and dad over reacted. You just learned and can't be expected to remember all of that right off the bat. If it makes you feel any better, I am almost 40 and just mowed for the first time ever a few weeks ago. I didn't do so well, either.

It was your dad's fault for making you both do it. If he wanted it done right he should have taught you if your brother wasn't out there when you started mowing. This shouldn't be a big deal.

Not you. You did your best.
Does your Dad insist on a certain way for safety reasons? If so, your brother should have come to help when your Dad told him to, and it's his fault. If your Dad is just controlling and in reality it doesn't really matter how the mowing is done, it's his fault.
I don't think it's your fault no matter what.

I'd say both your Father and Brother share equal blame. Your brother didn't really do anything to help, and your father should have known better than to delegate a task like that to a teenager. (I'm guessing here that your brother is a teenager) But really, from my point of view, who really cares about the pattern as long as it all gets cut? Especially if it's only your second time.

If Dad wanted it done "right" he should have done it himself or supervised it himself.

BTW. If you were my daughter and mowed my lawn for me with being asked the first time and no complaining... I wouldnt care what "pattern" you mowed in so long as it was finished within a reasonable period of time.

wow you used like wayy to much. anyway i thik that your dad and brother were both wrong. you dad shouldnt have gotten mad at you being it was only your second time. and your brother should have made sure you were doing it right. but both of them should be happy that you are mowing the grass at all

I think it was your bro's fault. I mean, you were asked to mow and you went and mowed!

they should understand that you are still learning, so many impatient people these days are expecting others to learn something like what to do if a hot potato gets thrown at you when you've never seen one before

Your brother should have come outside earlier, but your dad should have also gone inside to fetch him.
