I put in the classifieds that I am giving away some of my frogs and toads. A lady answered and we talk about where we will meet. I tell her that it is better for us to meet at a certain place on we WEEKDAY. Today is Sunday, of course, and I give her directions to the place I want her to meet me at and I say I'll be a this certain place (i'm not saying where) all day because I have to study anyways. Well, she then emails me back and says, "Okay, I'm leaving my house now. you recognize me because I am the young lady with two little kids with me. See you in a bit."

AH WHAT? By reading that, you can tell she thinks I am meeting her right NOW at the place we chose. I know I made it clear that I am available on weekDAYS. This is freaking me out and I kind of feel bad. But, I shouldn't feel bad, right? Because, I put it as clear as I could. Maybe when we saw the word "weekday" her mind translated it to "weekend". I am at a loss here.

Your thoughts?

How far away is this meeting place? If it's not *that* far (and open on Sundays!), I'd have gone to meet her anyhow... but sometimes you can't -I have a commute of 1 1/2 hours so if I were to meet someone in the town where I work, if they misunderstand and go there on a day I don't have work then it's too bad, they'll just end up waiting for me & we'd have to make another appointment on a day I am at work.

Either way I wouldn't feel too bad, it's never fun when someone misunderstands but it *is* her fault for not reading your mail correctly.

did you happen to meet her on craigslist? there's a LOT of flakes on there. Just let her know in the email that you said WEEKDAYS not weekends... or simply meet her if you have the time. If you must leave the house, just do it... she'll figure it out eventually. Or you can leave a note on the doorstep that says "I said weekdays" Hope everything works out great!

Well, it's not your fault. She must have misheard you. It's just a misunderstanding. If I were you I'd write her again and just say "But it's Sunday. I said I'd be there on weekdays. I can't be there today. You're welcome to meet me there tomorrow, I'll be there."

So I guess you are meeting her. Even though she misunderstood she is already on her way to your agreed meeting location. How long can it take to give her some toads?

I would probably go ahead and meet her today since there was a misunderstanding. I know it is her fault, but ......we have all done it.

No you should NOT feel bad; it is not your mistake.

it's her own fault for misunderstanding you. Email her back and put in all caps, "WEEKDAYS" and maybe she'll take the hint.
