RIVOTRIL is the Brand name of the drug benzodiazepine used as an anticonvulsant for epilepsy and as a sedative for sleep disorders.

The maximum dosage prescribed by doctors and also the presentation are 2 mg. only. Never take this medicine in combination of any other anti-depresents, sleeping pills or alchohal.

One of the common side effects of Rivotril is Sleep disorders. The most commonly noted side effects associated with clonazepam are sedation, weakness, and unsteadiness, a feeling of depression, loss of orientation, headache, and sleep disturbance. It depends on the body constitution of per patient. So yu are having the sleep disorders mentioned by you.

Other medicines of this benzodiazepine family are diazepam (Valium), alprazolam (Xanax), lorazepam (Ativan), flurazepam (Dalmane).

Since you have already tried Xanax, I suggest you to take Ativan instead of Rivotril. I also suggest you to consult your Doctor and take medication accordingly.-

To get good sleep you need to be tiered.

So do some exercises 1 or 1/2 hour before going to bed, just go for a walk,do some work around the house. A night cap without exceeding your total calorie in take before bed time will help also, warm milk or a snack.

Keeping regular time is also important, but not possible for some people, so if you can then get in to the habit of going to bed at certain fix time and get out of the bed at fix time, this works for most people takes about 28 days to 35 days to form this habit.

If you cannot sleep then at least try to relax, body does need physical rest.

You wrote "but one thing in the last hours of sleep my mind start running i get the feeling like i am dreaming and sleeping , about the stress i really have in my life , i dream about them getting hurt bye them i worry alot .
dont know what to do"

Actually this is normal.

Explanations:

1. Most people dream all the time while sleeping, as a matter of fact you must dream to get sound sleep. These dreams are not remembered by the people, very few dreams are remembered by the people.

3. To be rejuvinated a person needs to go through following stages of sleep in the following order.

Alpha stage, a light sleep for an hour or two. Followed by Beta stage light to medium to heavy sleep for an hour or two . Then Gama stage, a real deep sleep, for 3 to 4 hours.,now before awaking, must go through Beta stage and the alpha stage, about an hour or two each.

An adult must sleep on an average 8 to 10 hours a day, it depends on the habit, we are all individuvals. Some get by for less then 4 hours but not for long, sleep has a way ofcatching up on a person. But still few can for life.

Not to insult you by any means, but reading your post would lead me to think your mind is racing as you write this. Don't get disappointed with Klonapin (clonazepam) as some of the side effects are what you have described. Are you being treated for bi-polar specifically? You describe some of the major symptoms, and clonazepam can aid your sleep as it can slow down those racing thoughts in your mind. Ask your doctor what he has diagnosed you with. You need to know what you are being treated for so you can also do your own research.

Chemical aids have limited use. Tackle the root cause by trying meditation and other mind control methods to minimize stress.

Realize that one can do only so much to control things. Stressing about situations beyond one's control actually reduces the ability to function.

Go into a retreat to some secluded place: a jungle lodge, fishing resort or a yoga place if you are in India.

Unwind.

A mind which is too-pre-occupied will not be in a position to find solution for even simple problems. So, it goes without saying that you have to bring your mind to control first. Simple meditation would help you. Have faith in meditation and practice it regularly preferably in the early hours of morning and while retiring to bed. That would heal all your mental and physical problems; and once your mind calms down, you will find solution for all your stress and problems too. Also, practice a healthy eating habbit .

Practise sleep with out pills. It is so easy if you practise. You think that you are getting sleep... ... ... like number of times. Automatically you will get sleep. Only the thing is that you should have extreme concentration on which you are thinking.

THATS REALLY STRANGE. HOW COME YOUR MIND DOESNT STOP EVEN AFTER TAKING EFFECTIVE ANTI DEPRESSANTS ?MAYBE YOU SHOULD ASK THE DOCTOR TO COMBINE RIVOTRIL WITH OTHER SUITABLE MEDICINES IE OTHER ANTI DEPRESSANTS. AN APT COMBINATION WORKS WHEREAS A SINGLE ANTI DEPRESSANT TAKEN WITHOUT THE OTHER IMPORTANT ONES DOES NOT HELP AT ALL.
I AM SURE ITS ONLY THIS REASON WHY RIVOTRIL ISNT HELPING. BESIDES BE CAREFUL ABOUT THE EXPIRY DATES OF MEDICINES
