Yes - heights and roller coasters scare me terribly. But I survived a flight during an electrical storm. I closed the window sliding shade (I had the window seat) on take off but after we did - opened it and saw how beautiful the world looked from above (closed it again before landing). You can focus on the skymall magazine or shut your eyes and do yoga breathing and if you are lucky a handsome man might get to sit next to you. It could be a great flight!

I hate heights but looking out the window of an airplane never bothered me. I read somewhere that you have a greater fear when the platform you are on is connected to the ground then when it is not. I don't quite understand why, but it's true.
I once rode in a tiny helicopter taking pictures leaning out the door with no problems. When I go to the top of a tall building and look out the window I get queezy.

Yeah you'll be fine. I am terrified of heights and roller coasters and even elevators but on a plane you really don't even notice that you're in the air. Takeoff is a little scary, but after that you don't feel much movement. Just don't look out the window.

I find if I am in something that's enclosed like an airplane, train or monorail, I am fine. If it is open like a roller coaster or a ski lift and I feel I can "fall out" then I have a problem.

Well if a girl is afraid on a roller coaster, nice boys would probably hold their hand and try and make them feel better. So yeah, they do.

Yes. While you are in an airplane you have no sense of how high you are compared to looking out the window of a tall building. Air flight, statistically, is safer than driving your car to the mall.

Sure, yeah. But don't look out the window like every 5 seconds. Planes aren't that bad except the pain in your ears and stuff.
