No I don't think it would be appropriate. It could cause you to look like a kiss up.What would be appropriate is to do your job to the best of your ability, learn it well, make your supervisor not sorry he/she hired you.

The appropriate response would be to just shake hands on the first day of work and say thanks.
Then get to work and don't bring it up again. After that, the best way to show your appreciation would be to do a good job.

I dont know what others think, but I think it is appropriate as long as you keep it businesslike. A simple card where you say thank you for giving me the chance at this position. I will be a service to this company and help you to grow, and I know you will be a blessing to me also.
Thanks for the chance, and just sign your name.
Letting your boss know you will do for them and know they will benefit you also is a good thing. I think it is very appropriate, but I know a lot of very stuffy ppl would say no to this. Go with what you think God says is ok, and let Him lead you to go with His heart.

I don't find it appropriate for the fact that if you thank him for hiring you it kind of sounds like it was a favor and not you earning the job.

I think that would be entirely appropriate and a good show of how much you appreciate and are looking forward to the new job.

I think if I were going to send one, it would have been directly after the interviewing and before that actual hire.
at this point the best way to say thank you is to do a good job.

I think it would be appropriate and show that you appreciate the job, but then again I'm a 16 year old unemployed individual.

Show your appreciation by being a hard working, conscientious employee. That will be appreciated more than any card you could send.

Yes! Your supervisor would be glad that you appreciate his (or her) decision. They'd be happy about knowing that you appreciate it, and you'll be happy you get more money, right? lol.... :)
