Read the Genesis story of how Adam was created.
Dust of the ground + Breath (spirit) of God = a living soul.
Reverse this and you know where he went. The body went into the grave. And his breath (spirit) went back to God.
In other words, just as Jesus said, Lazarus sleeps.
Soul never went to Heaven, we are a soul, we don't have one.
Just think, you die and go to Heaven then Jesus calls you back to earth. BUMMER. I think even Lazarus would have said. WHY Lord?

According to tradition Lazarus lived a normal life after his Resurrection. Of course like many traditions based on people that were famous in their own community but had not impact on the world, there is no record of what actually happened to him.

He went into a tomb. Was wrapped in burial cloth and herbs. After four days he had a bad case of B.O. and if Jesus had not awakened him from the death of sleep, after he decomposed, they would have put his bones in a special box to be opened by the Great I AM Himself at the day of resurrection of the righteous.

He didn't really die, he hid in the closet and then put a bunch of pillows under his blanket to make it look like he was still laying there. Then when Jesus came in to "raise him from the dead", he threw a rock into the other room to cause Jesus to look behind himself, then while Jesus was looking the other way, he quickly slipped out of the closet and went under the blanket again and pretended like he woke from the dead. Duh.....
