Does drinking lots of water help you gain or lose weight?

Actually it helps---it is supposedly flushing out fat(I don't believe that one), but I found that drinking a glass of water right before my meals causes me to eat a loss less, drinking about 1/2 gallon a day causes me to be less hungry--because a lot of times we eat, feeling hungry, but the body is actually thirsty. So anytime you think you're hungry drink water first(8fl.oz.), and only if you are hungry 10-15 minutes later, should you eat. That helps lose a lot of weight, maintain the weight loss, helps prevent overeating and keeps the body nicely hydrated.

YOU NEED WATER! For your weight and age, you need water! If you're desperate about losing weight, take a step back and look at how you got to 245. Do you exercise at least 30 minutes a day? That may sound ridiculous, but you can do it. :) Do some research. Eat better. Buy healthier foods. Instead of watching TV, take a walk. Trust me, I've been in a similar situation. You can get through this. I listed some sources. Check them out. Remember not to get wrapped up with diet pills and programs. Good luck, and I hope you can get healthy and happy. :D

If you don't drink enough water, your body retains water which is a cause for bloating. It's a defense mechanism; your body hangs onto whatever water it can because it doesn't know when the next time it'll get more water will be. If you drink plenty of water, your body won't worry about keeping this reserve and you will lose that retained water. It also helps to regulate your metabolism and flush your body of toxins as others have already mentioned. Drinking enough water is the best thing you can do for your body.

if you drink a lot of water the water can go up to your brain and die, and if you drink a lot of water it makes you look that you gained weight. To find how much water you're sppost to drink every day you have to find the half of you're weight, and divide the half of you're weight by 8.

Neither.

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

Lose, lose, lose....

I have lost and kept off a stone since drinking 2l water a day. You should drink water 20 mins before a meal to make sure you have enough water to digest your meal properly. It also helps you regulate "full"

Enjoy losing weight

It helps clear your bowels and clean out your kidneys. Many people confuse being thirsty with being hungry and eat. It helps you feel full. Water doesn't stay in your system. You eliminate it.
Drink at least until your urine is a light yellow.
Don't forget to exercise and eat right too.
