because if they are sinful too how will we know whether the bible is god's word? Or can we happily use carbon dating now to prove the Dead Sea Scrolls! Despite us not even knowing whether this was the first copy or had been edited before that point? Even if there was a god inspired copy of the bible it is impossible to prove that this one was not edited. Can anyone see this?

Yep, bible is just a bunch of crap. Religion is just a way to impose your will over other people. The problem is that it seems to work.

Yes a good question. I think one of the best explanations for this is Daniels 70 weeks prophecy. The dead sea scrolls are dated long before Jesus' time, in that prophecy Daniel gets word from God the exact time the Messiah would enter Jerusalem. THat prophecy lands on the exact day Jesus entered and was proclaimed King. This is just one of many factors that points to divine origin of the scriptures. No man can predict the future in the way the bible has. Look into some of the prophecy's that have come to pass that the bible has said would all along. Spend some time Its a cool way to see the support the bible has in it favor. But remember no matter how strong the evidence is we can still have doubts. the best thing to do is look into your heart and logic and ask is this true, does it make sense of the world around me, I think you will find it does if you are honest with your intentions, mainly not to bury the possibility it is what it says it is.

All have sinned a fall short of the Golry of God. Read the Bible. The answers are there as I have just demonstrated. Come on, this isn't difficult.

As far as copies of scripture: They are all copied. What do you want from documents that were written millenia ago? What's up with your thinking? Why do you think that original documents have to be around when we are talking about 2000 or more years ago before we knew of how to seal documents for longevity?

As for accuracy, we have separate documents which did not meet again until hundreds of years later, both were copied and then their lineage could be traced as being separate for those hundreds of years. When compared they proved to be almost the same.

I often wonder what the common thinker does thinking that they can avoid scholars on the subject and amass all their knowledge from internet Atheist sites. It's asking for a lack of credibility.

People, if they are going for scholarly views on things, tend to stick to unscholarly summaries. Typical.

All you really need to do it believe that Jesus lived and died to save you.

No one is perfect. All christians including pastors, preachers and elders screw up. The only Perfect person who ever lived was Jesus. The rest of us are making our way with baby steps and falling and stumbling, But like any other Daddy, he picks us up kisses our boo-boos and helps us to start over again.

We are NOT and NEVER will be, perfect. God loves us anyway. He is our Dad and Dad`s love their kids.

God knows what the bible says. He also knows that we are doing our best to follow these instructions and how it may or may not have been altered. . And that is all he can ask of us. Our best. You can not be held responsible for the past writings or changes to the good book. All you can do is remember that he sees your heart and that is what is important to him.

Quite frankly, he doesn`t care what you wear or don`t wear or if you eat meat on Friday or what church you go to or any of that other stuff. He loves you . He made you naked. He doesn`t see your outer wear. He see`s your inner-wear.

Yes that is true all men and women have sinned and that includes a preacher. And to know that God's word is the bible you have to have faith, believing in the lord, Jesus Christ is about faith and love, it has nothing to do with religion in this world. There are many people in this world that go to church and try to live a good christian life and be good mannered thinking that will take them to heaven but thats religion right there. Only God's grace is sufficient. The only thing that can save us is realizing we are sinners, and accepting him that he saved us when he died for our sins at cavalry.
