There's a lot of things to help you..how many calories, etc. I think there's a way on there to figure your body fat percentage.

Consult a health club.

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

there is no way you can figure it out on your own because only dietitian or trainers at the gym can tell it precisely.
what you can do on your own is find out your bmi which is irrelevant and has nothing to do with body fat percentage.
the scales that tell you body fat percentage are about 5% off which is too much.

This site has several methods of estimating body fat. They are not as good as doing a water displacement test, but you can measure your own progress if you pick one and repeat the test every month or so.
