See your dentist. If left untreated, a tooth abscess can develop. Untreated tooth decay also destroys the internal structures of the tooth (pulp) and ultimately causes the loss of the tooth.
In filling teeth, the decayed material is removed (by drilling) and replaced with a restorative material such as silver alloy, gold, porcelain, or composite resin. Porcelain and composite resin more closely match the natural tooth appearance, and may be preferred for front teeth. Many dentists consider silver amalgam (alloy) and gold as stronger, and these materials are often used on back teeth. There is a trend to use high strength composite resin in the back teeth as well.
Treatment often preserves the tooth. Early treatment is less painful and less expensive than treatment of extensive decay. Anesthetics -- local (novacaine), nitrous oxide (laughing gas), or other prescription medications -- may be required in some cases to relieve pain during or following drilling or other treatment of decayed teeth. For those who fear dental treatment, nitrous oxide in combination with anesthesia may be preferred.

Cavities only get bigger not smaller. Only in the very beginnings on decay, before the dentist or hygienist can get a "stick" using an explorer are you possibly able to reverse the decalcifation of the tooth. Brushing with a fluoride toothpaste and regular flossing may help. If the decay has already penetrated through the enamel, you need to go to the dentist and get a filling. The dentist will remove the decay and fill the cavity with filling material. Don't wait. Cavities get bigger and will eventually infect the root of the tooth.

The ONLY way to get rid of a cavity is by going to the dentist, and having them completely drill out the decayed bits, and then filling it all up. If you do not do this, the cavity will keep getting bigger and bigger, until you have a nasty problem on your hands, which will end up requiring more, extensive, dental work. Just go to the dentist and have done with it.

No matter how hard you try, you can't get rid of cavities. You can only get them properly filled by a dentist.

Go have a dentist look at it. Since it's small, the filling process won't be so horrible as a full cavity.

A cavity of any size or shape needs to be filled by your dentist. If its an abbrasion cavity (usually by the gum and caused by excessive toothbrushing from side to side) then it can be filled but not 100% urgent or sometimes not even necessary.

Any other type of cavity needs to be filled, otherwise bacteria will get in there make the cavity bigger and cause toothache. The quicker you get it seen to the smaller the filling basically, but dont ignore it!
