When I was 12, I wanted to be just like Sergeant Saunders on the old " Combat " TV series. When I was 18, that fad had left me. When you get sick and your periods stop and your hair starts to fall out, go back to a correct diet.

Paul McCartney is not God. I butcher my own deer and make sausage and it has never made me want to be a vegetarian. Your still 12, do what your told by your parents. When they fix dinner, eat.

My idol, Paul McCartney (perhaps you've heard of him hahaha) once said:
"If slaughterhouses had glass walls, we'd all be vegetarians"

Try telling her that. Then wait a few seconds for the effect and see what she says. If that quote doesn't really get to her then try to make a list of your reasons why to become a vegetarian and ask her to make a list of reasons why she's against it. See if you can make a compromise.

PS Lentils, nuts, tofu...all good vegetarian methods of obtaining what we miss from meat.

Well, don't do it the way that I told my mom when I was 15 - over Thanksgiving dinner. She was not pleased!

The way I won my mom over was to show her I was informed on how to eat properly as a vegetarian. Put together some sample meal plans to show her that you know what you're doing and follow through on the plans.

Just be sure to eat s well balanced diet on a daily basis. A good website for balanced vegetarian eating is http://www.vrg.org/

Good luck!

Just tell her that you would like to talk to her about becoming a vegetarian, and that you would like to make sure that you still receive the daily nutrients that you need.
