Religion is about having a relation with God, for that you've got to:
1)Talk to him (pray)
2)Get to know him (read the Bible and other things)learn, teach
Also you have to relate to people and love: a good church will provide those needs

Religion is not about rituals or empty legalism

It's a matter of trial and error.

I'm working on the Gay thing.

Part of me says live and let live.

Part of me wonders, what will come next, marrying animals, marrying children, allowing rampant fornication to be OK.

Does the world of God then not become the world of Satan or Paganism.

You have to draw lines in the sand.

You read a story, Mick Jagger age 55 marries a super model age 22. What's you're reaction.

There is NOTHING in Bible against thin, in fact there are Biblical scriptures to support this type of marriage.

But what your gut feeling.

It is a right feeling or an un Godly feeling.

It has to do with you vs them

Muhammad marries a 6 year old girl

Recently in Pakistan a 20 something guy married a 4 year old girl.

This, apprently, is a common thing out there.

I am told in India it is common for older men to marry teenage girls

Same is true in Catholic Mexico

There is no Biblical law against it

In Mexico if a girls parents approve she can marry at 14

If she is a poor peasant girl who marries a 55 year old land owner, she and her family get a better life through this marriage

But what are YOU views on this

Are you being judgemental

Christians aren't supposed to be judgemental

So we have to wrestle with things

This is how your beliefs come about

But you have to look at the universe from all angles, especially those we learn from God and Jesus.

Jesus said you have to put God above your mother, father, son and daughter. He said NOTHING about your spouse

That is open to interpretation

Jesus said to keep from being fornicators all men should marry. Not must, but should.

He also didn't say it had to be to women.

Did he leave a crack in the door open

We have to decide

We'll be judged on our decisions and what we follow

So we have to decide wisely.

The biggest mistake you make is following others, so you must obviously follow your own heart and then TAKE RESPONSIBLITY for your actions.

To this day I wonder what God would have done if Adam simply would have said YES I ATE THE APPLE I Decided to eat it.

Instead he said

The WOMAN YOU MADE ME TWISTED MY ARM AND TOLD ME I'D GET NONE IF I DIDN"T EAT THE THING

It's a small thing but an important thing

When you say I hate gays becaue Pat Roberston and Jerry Falwell said I have to

You are NOT taking responsbility for your actions

You are assigning blame

You are saying with the NAZI's said

I WAS ONLY FOLLOWING ORDERS

Schindler took NAZI money to make weapons and he made weapons that didn't work, with Jewish labor. He knew what he was doing. The Jews knew what he was doing. The NAZI's didn't. The NAZI guards didn't care, they had a cush job.

All of them got out with their skins because Schindler was a schrew man who took a chance.

Schindler was a scoundrel. By rights he should be denied a place in heaven because he was a scoundrel.

But he saved his own life, the life of a lot of Jews and a few German guards who would NOT be facing war crimes, because they did none.

He was a fornicator, a womanizer, a liar, a cheat.

Now weigh if or if not he deserves a spot in heaven.

The Jews he saved UNANIMOUSLY agreed he was a SAINT and they gave their own teeth gold up to make him a ring that told other Jews he was a Saint and not to hurt a hair on his head.

That's about the most I can tell you about God and religion and the lack of such.

Being Christian is about being member of a Church. You cannot reach God if you do not reach out to other people of the same faith. Reading the Bible and praying are good things but not enough to help you experience the full Grace of God.Participating in the Church´s Holy Sacraments, receiving the Holy Communion, fasting - I do not know if you are already member of a Church, I am using Eastern Orthodox as an example- it all purifies your body and soul with the Grace of the Holy Spirit and helps you understand the Bible, pray sincerely and experience faith in your everyday life.

A good step would be to contact a priest of your Church or if you would like additional information about that, put that on your message.

Many people say "become my religion, you can do anything within moderation" or "don't become that religion, they're too strict". Are we to think that "God's Truth" is like a supermarket. Do we look at the packing and see if we like it according to our tastes? Shouldn't we be looking to see what God wants us to do? Alot of people like the idea of being religious, going to church getting swept along with the whole concept and go home after church on Sunday and basically forget about it till next Sunday. Love of God should permeate our every decision and action. Just as love for our children moves us to take them into consideration when making decisions, also love of God and his laws should help us in our decision making. God does have moral laws that he wants his followers to live by. Firstly we need knowledge of God's requirements in the Bible. Then we must put them into practise. Prayerfully we must develop a close relationship with him and his son, we do this by trusting in his direction, advice, and by putting his will before our own. We must love our neighbour and hate religious hypocrisy.

My advice to you would be , try to be Jesus -like, not " religious". Read the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, luke & John, & then you will have seen how Jesus lived. If you try to be as much like Him as possible, you will be living a Christian life, not being "religious ". As you strive to live for Jesus, keep your eyes on Him, because even fellow Christians may let you down, but Jesus never will. Don't let others make you think it's all a waste of time. Just be true to Him & your faith, and fellowship with other Christians when ever you can. That's where you get your encouragement.

it has been my experience that most people that want to get more "religious" really want to connect to spirituality. if you want religion then break out the wallet and be prepared to support a group of people that are most likely already better off then you are. if you want to become more spiritual then follow the golden rule and treat people the way u know they should be treated. the most important parts of the bible , the ones describing the part of women in the early days of the church and the accepting of all forms of spirituality are left out. don't get obsessed with living your life according to arcane rules just do what you know is right

believe in what ever you believe, That should be good enough.

I have heard of a film called Jesus Camp, its supposed to be very extreme. YOU CAN GO TOO FAR, i have only seen a clip of the film, a scary documentary

I am not a believer incase you didn't guess.
But my tips are
Be true to yourself, Do not do anything because some priest tells you, do it because you want to, or feel it is right for you

Be good to yourself, and others.
Do not change your friends because of your quest
And do not try to make your friends change, if they want to , they themselves must choose

Telling non-Believers not to answer is a sure way to attract them,
hope you find happiness in you quest

It's easy: Don't fully read the Bible, and find a group of people to hate. Allow other followers to tell you what to believe, and put your own thought into nothing.

Oh, and... if you can't handle differing opinions, why, dearie, are you asking this in a public place?

Get in the gospels. Learn what Jesus did during His life. Imitate Him. Ask God to help you imitate Him. Find out what He said to non-believers and say the same thing. (Not word for word but in today's terms that other people can understand) Find out what kind of people He helped and help those kinds of people. Find out what He preached and preach the same thing. In short, be like Christ.

Be concerned with becoming more spiritual, don't get caught up in a lot of religious doctrine. Look up Joyce Meyer, she teaches how to apply Biblical teachings in your everyday life.
