Science has already surpassed religion in dominance and worldwide acceptance. That is precisely why there is SO MUCH death, ravenous greed, war, and starvation on this earth. And for the good of mankind. No measure of "intellect" can supersede wisdom.
There has never been a problem with overpopulation. This is another lie being willfully accepted by people to justify their own blood thirsty passions. People have a deadly problem with their hearts. That is why the system has failed. The legs have already buckled from underneath us. We just haven't hit bottom yet.
God bless

I would hazard a guess that most religions are informed at some level by science whether they want to concede the parts that directly contradict religious teachings is quite different.
As for population control that's an issue of political and military might, cultural survival and so on.
I don't think science or religion can be considered as singular cohesive entities either. So it's a false dichotomy.

Not in the sense that some would like to see. What will come to pass is a compromise; a worldwide religion where people will actually worship a god of forces.
Many, even atheists, already have no trouble saying "The force be with you?"

Reality will win in the end. Nature has always dealt with overpopulation through disease and famine. Science is frantically trying to prevent that from happening. As the theists get more money taken away from the scientific community, they will succeed in proving themselves false. And you know what the true price will be.

No, religion is a money making enterprize that employes brainwashing to produce it's customer/income stream. as long as the brainwashing is enforced (through parents) religion will exist. religion going out of business would be like mcdonalds going out of business (and they both contribute about the same to society!)
Science has already superceded religion as the source of information and facts regarding all thing from the universe to the sub-atomic

religion is superseded by science now. we don't goto a priest when we are sick or injured in an accident . we don't goto church to make our plants grow bigger . we don't pray to make our cars run better . all of our modern conveniences are due to scientific advances not theological prowess. organized religion is a means to control the masses. science is the means to free them. look at what is happening to the originators of Christianity, buying off the masses for billions of dollars trying to keep control.science is what will free the world of hunger and hatred .

science and religion are not necessarily in conflict. But the vocal narrow-minded percentage who are already notice thier power and control (and that's what they're really interested in) ebbing; that's why they lash out so viciously.
