What are you scared of? That the cat might be sick? She's probably fine, but if you are really worried, have a vet check her over.
Meowing is how cats TALK. To us humans, a meow sounds plaintive, as if the cat wants something or has a problem. But that's not necessarily true -- meowing is just how a cat TALKS. She's probably just telling you about her day!
Try talking back to her -- in English (or your language) or by meowing to her. It doesn't matter WHAT you say, she will enjoy just being talked to!
Also, she might be lonely. You might consider adopting another cat -- cats do like company! Hopefully they will get along fine, but even if they don't get along at first, eventually they will accept each other and might become great friends!
THANK YOU for adopting a cat from a shelter. You have made a huge difference in the life of a living, breathing creature... May you both enjoy the best things in life!

Animals just have a way of touching our hearts and making us turn to mush:) Congratulations on deciding to adopt a much needing cat from a shelter rather then getting one from a petshop or an iresponsible cat owner. It sounds like you two have bonded emensly if she is already sad when you are going to leave. Sometimes it takes cats months to bond with an owner especially if they've have a traumatic past. I'm sure that her cries when your are getting ready to leave are just her way of telling you that she will miss you. I'm sure that she has some anxiety that you arent going to return home. The best thing that you can do for her is to not make a big deal about leaving and coming home. When she cries for you not to leave just ignore her, by paying attention you only make things worse. It's kind of like a toddler when their parent leaves. It always works best if the parents can sneak out without the child noticing that they've left. If you can destract her in some way and leave that would probably be best. And when you return home don't go up to her and start luving on her and giving lots of attention. After a few minutes of being home then you can spend as much time with her as you want. I'm sure as she starts feeling more and more comfortable in her new home she will calm down and realize that she isn't going to go anywhere and your going to come back for her. It's all a matter of time and patience. Good luck to you and your new cat!!!

I have a hard time getting to school sometimes- José swats like "pick me up, where do you think you're going?" and Rita cries. A companion might be nice if you work a 9-5 job, but they will need some time to be friends and may have to be separated at first (ie one in the bedroom, one in the living room). I'd call the shelter and ask if they have anybody that gets on well with other kitties. I don't think there's anything wrong that the cat loves you, though, no.

the appropriate factor you're able to do is donate! And unfold the be conscious. undergo in strategies, it is not merely animal shelters that have needy cats searching for properties. on the animal well being midsection the place I artwork, and extra than a number of different others, countless irresponsible human beings think of this is okay to drop off their undesirable cats (and canines!). countless animal shelters are tormented by our modern economic device. Many are remaining down, and which skill countless animals being placed down or shoved into already packed rescues. The animal shield in my city merely closed, and all straight away i've got seen an advance in strays and additionally countless cats searching for properties at my artwork (animal well being midsection). the appropriate thank you to help them correct now could be donate. money, canned cat nutrition (Prescription weight-help plan is staggering), new beds and blankets, cat toys, magnificent collars, bowls, and so on. Shelters want all of the type new factors that they are in a position to get...they have not got too a lot money to purchase it with. additionally, volunteer! in case you love cats and animals, why no longer volunteer at your close by shield? It makes a distinction, and shelters have not got countless money to pay workers. Volunteering is so helpful, and it incredibly does help. final yet no longer least, unfold the be conscious! tell anybody to spay and neuter their pets. we've too many irresponsible puppy proprietors in usa, and unfourtuntely it leads to cats and canines breeding. that's why we at the instant have a puppy overpopulation. And that equals overcrowded shelters and wholesome animals being euthanized because of the fact of area themes! you additionally can help by fostering cats. this is relaxing to foster animals like cats. you're helping out by giving a cat some love and care, whether this is in basic terms for a quick time. And who knows, perchance it is going to inspire you to undertake. inspire others to be foster mommies and daddies for cats too! that's a great factor of do.

I adopted a cat who was found as a stray and I would have to say she is the most independent cat I know and never wants to go outside, she greets me and my husband at the door when we come home and has taught the other cat to do it also, Congrats on your new kitty and its good to hear you adopted!

You could use a little of the Bach flower essence "Chicory" for her:
"Patterns of imbalance - expressing love by being possessive, demanding and needy. Postive qualities: selfless love given freely, respecting the freedom and individuality of others."
You can get a bottle of that from a health foods store. Shake the bottle well and put three to four drops on the fur between her ears before you leave for work, when you return, before bedtime, etc. Use it for about ten days. If the needy behavior returns then use it again for another period of time.

Probably not. She probably wasn't used to love and affection before you came along. You're the only person she's had to bond with and she loves you.
