Being Born Again is the third step to being saved.
The first be the acceptance of Jesus Christ as saviour.
The second being the repentance of sin.

I am not a Christian, I am a Latter-day Saint. But I declare that being saved is not the same as being born again.

Jesus overcame two specific things by fulfilling the Atonement. One, in the Garden of Gethsemane, he worked on his role as our Redeemer. While by his death and resurrection, all things that will die, will freely be able to be resurrected, with no action on our part.

Overcoming physical death is something we simply cannot do anything about. There is nothing to redeem, for there is no way for us to redeem it. Overcoming physical death, therefore, was Jesus's work in Saving us from something we simply could not possibly save ourselves from.

So there is no such thing as getting saved. We are already saved. Protestant Christians idiosyncratically declare you must get saved, but that is because they don't know what they're talking about. It is not the only thing they don't know what they're talking about.

Redemption, on the other hand (or being born again), requires that we redeem the gift that we were given from Jesus. And what gift was that? The gift to be forgiven of our sins and transgressions through the process of repentance. Just like when we are given a coupon or gift certificate, we cannot take advantage of it until we take it in to the Redeemer of that gift, and apply the redemption of it.

The process of Redemption is also known as the process of being born again. For by redeeming our gift properly, we renew our lives symbolically.

We are saved from Physical Death, because of the Resurrection of Jesus. Because Jesus "broke" the bands of physical death, ALL THINGS LIVING WILL BE RESURRECTED. His action was universal one.

We are "born again" through the gift of the Redemption that Jesus has given us. But only after we redeem that gift through a process which he has, by his examples and teachings and authorized servants, provided a way for us to work out.

No, I am not a Christian, but you see, no Christian can truly explain the relationship between being Saved and getting born again. And so you see, here, that all the answers from the Christians on this thread all say that they are one and the same. But what do they offer in the form of support for their convictions? Nothing but a one-liner response.

Do you see a pattern, here, among them. Do you see the underpinnings of what I'm suggesting, here???

Being born back is an adventure. Being clothed in righteousness is a condition. Being saved is a technique. All persons who're born back, till they face as much as God's grace, would be saved. We (born-back persons) are clothed in the righteousness of Christ, which will enable us to circulate into God's presence upon dying. we are being saved as God works His healing and forgiveness in our lives by His be conscious and Sacrament; finished salvation is our in basic terms suitable wish, and the promise He has given us. Many Protestants want to apply the awareness "sanctification" to describe the salvation technique, so as that they'd use "saved" and "born back" synonymously to tension our rejection of the doctrine of Purgatory.

Understandably, many feel that they are the same. Most people are taught that you either live in heavenly bliss forever or you live in hellish torment forever. Some even feel you are simply separated from God forever and that is the punishment for disobedience. But in all of these scenarios, you are alive forever. But does the Bible hold out everlasting life even for the disobedient?

The hope held out in the Bible is everlasting life or everlasting death. Notice John 17:3: "This means everlasting life, taking in knowledge." It makes no mention here of heaven. And notice Romans 6:23: "the wages sin pays is death and the gift God gives is everlasting life." Notice the contrast is between life and death – not life in this place or life in that place.

So, do all good people go to heaven? Most people think so, but Jesus Christ did not agree. He told the Jewish ruler Nicodemus, who came to him secretly at night: “No man has ascended into heaven.” John 3:13. Up to that point, absolutely no one had gone to heaven. Not Abraham, not Jacob, not even David. Acts 2:34 plainly tells us that. But this should not surprise us. Why not? Heaven was never meant to be the home of humans. God created the earth beautifully to be forever inhabited by men. Had Adam and Eve remained obedient, they would have remained on a paradise earth. Moreover, we can see from such scriptures as Psalm 37:10, 11 that man was meant to be on earth. For how long? Forever, according to Psalm 37:29. Proverbs 2:21, 22 states that the only ones removed from earth will be the wicked. Does that continue to be so according to the teaching of Christ?

Yes. Remember what he said at Matthew 5:5: Happy are the meek for they will inherit the earth. “Yes,” some say, “but the Bible does speak of humans going to earth, doesn’t it?” Absolutely! Jesus made a covenant with some for a kingdom – so that they could sit on thrones just as he would. What will they do in heaven? According to Revelation 20:6, they will be priests of God and of the Christ and will rule with Christ. Well, priests serve on behalf of someone and kings rule over others. Who? Why, those ones who inherit everlasting life on earth! Did you notice that Revelation speaks of the first resurrection? There is a second resurrection, as well. Among these resurrected ones will be persons like Abraham, Moses, and David. But as for being saved, according to Jesus himself, at Matthew 24:13: “But he who has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.” Ah. Endurance to the very end is required in order to be saved. So, at best, people can say “I am saved – so far!”

Jesus indicated to Nicodemus that the time would come when some people would have an opportunity to enter the Kingdom of heaven, to be rulers with Christ. Of these Jesus said: “Unless anyone is born from water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. What has been born from the flesh is flesh, and what has been born from the spirit is spirit. Do not marvel because I told you, You people must be born again.” John 3:1-9. So one must be born of water and spirit to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

So while some are taken to heaven, the vast majority will remain on earth. But you need not be born of water and spirit to be saved. There are many in a saved condition now who will inherit life everlasting on earth, even as Jesus taught.

When someone put Christ on in baptism, they are born again. The old self is buried in the watery grave and the new life arises. This is the act of being born again. The new life in Jesus is saved and heavenbound.

I'm a cradle Catholic. As I understand it, Born Again is when you profess Christ is your personal savior. For us Catholics, this is when we are confirmed (we're usually baptized as babies). Being saved is what my protestant friends say to state that they are born again and expect to go to heaven. I still take issue with people professing that they're saved because only God knows his own decisions. I don't knock on my friends for it or ever say anything about it but I'm not comfortable with the phrase (I'm saved!) because I feel that it sounds arrogant.

Yes. God will save people when they have not reached the age of accountability for the reason or other. Born again is when you make your decision to follow Jesus and you ask forgiveness for your sins and you get baptized.
