Some think a vampire is an empty soulless vessel, the soul moves on, like if the body died

others believe a demon takes up residence in the body, the original soul either leaves or is trapped in there with the demon in control

while others just think the soul remains, its just you get a taste for blood. This is the most likely, Hypotectically speaking of course

Maybe it goes nowhere, even though you are living dead, whos to say that your soul doesn't become trapped and unable to escape. If you belive in hell being the absence of God then maybe for becoming one having your soul trapped inside is hell, so it goes nowhere. Maybe that is why so many vampires a depicted as being miserable. Because though they belive their soul is gone, it is really still inside and hurting from it being cast out of God's light.
