Of course they are! ALL dogs are good -- but not all dogs are good for all people.

By that I mean, if you don't like a lot of exercise, DON'T get a Dalmatian or Border Collie. If you don't have a big fenced in yard, don't get a Greyhound. Know your lifestyle and what you will and won't do BEFORE you get a dog.

If you want a small, friendly house dog, Pomeranians MIGHT be good for you. But you will have to brush him EVERY DAY. Can you do that? Do you WANT to do that? Can you live with the shedding? If not, get some other breed. Also, even though they are small, Poms do need SOME exercise.

But most importantly, Poms -- most small dogs -- can be VERY YAPPY. Can you live with that? Or take the responsibility to train him not to yap as much? If not, a small dog might not be for you.

Do a LOT of research before you get a dog. There's so much to know!

Pomeranians are very good dogs if you socialize them. Please take into consideration the following:

* Can be harder to potty train (any small dog is)
* Are prone to luxating patellas (any small dog can have this genetic condition)
* Needs grooming several times per week
* Needs a fair amount of exercise
* Are a one person dog
* Are prone to collapsing trachea (any small dog)
* NEVER shave the Pom
* Can overheat quickly
* Can be nippy if not properly socialized
* They demand attention

The good points are:
*They are very loyal
*They make great little watch dogs
*They are very loving
*They have a lot of personality
*They are comedians

Please read up on this breed before you get one. They are not for everyone.

ADD:
Big talk for someone that is a BYB and sells mutts!

It depends on environment, Treatment and genetics. If the dog is socialized at an early age, Has good treatment, Never been abused if coming from a shelter and has calm parents, then i'd say yeah. It can also depend on your patience level. They do bark a lot

It depends on their lineage. I have found most POMERANIANS to be a one person dog, i.e, one master.... and can be quite snippy. But again if you can look into the mother and father you can get an idea of the kind of temperament the dog will have.
