Interesting semantic argument here - about what is meant by putting Mary above Jesus. There is a point about praying to the Virgin Mary as an intercessor. There is nothing Scriptural about praying to God through anyone else but Christ. The saints are dead and none have risen to take Christ's place, or be alongside Him. Only Christ is a true Christian's intercessor.

I am not clear what you mean by "placing' But the Hail Mary is a prayer revolving around Jesus Christ her son. We as Catholics are very grateful that she consented to be his mother. We also are very aware of her pointing us into the right direction at the wedding at Cana. when she said"do whatever he says" And everytime I say the rosary I am in tears

Christianity is based off the old Egyptian religion, with Isis and Orsis and Hourus. Orisis as G-d, Isis as Mary, and Hourus as Jesus. Seeing that the Catholic religion for the longest time was the only Christian church until it split. They were just practicing similar ceremonies as the Egyptians which celebrated the Goddess as the Mother.

The thing is that we do realize it. Do you have pictures of people you admire in your home? Does that mean you worship them? I believe that people who have passed on can hear me when I speak to them. I also believe that certain people who are in better standing with God than me can deliver my prayers to him with better results than me. Maybe a few hail Mary's would do you some good. I do not give a hoot if you agree with me or not. However, maybe you should educate your ignorant mind before opening your mouth and bashing other peoples beliefs.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was Jesus that is the Mediator between us and God! When did the job fall to Mary?
She is the earthly Mother of Jesus, nothing more!

Thanks for the info I probably didn't get that note from the Church to put Mary above Jesus... but if you say that's what we do maybe I should start doing it, even though it really doesn't make sense since Jesus is God, and Mary is just a human.

Maybe you shouldn't bear false witness on people before your actually are positive that they do what you assume they do.

We don't put Mary above Jesus, at least we shouldn't anyway. We accept and believe she was the mother of Jesus, and in praying to her we ask that she bring our prayers to Jesus.

I agree with you.Mary was indeed blessed. She also was a sinner like all of us.She had other children after Jesus. She died and is awaiting the day of resurrection. She has not bodily ascended into heaven .She could not have appeared to anyone since she died.It is indeed idolatry to pray to her.She nor any other saints can help anyone.

Well, as a mom I would say she is a darn good reason He's here!
She doesn't come before him. She is recognized in a way that is foriegn to most Christians, the whole woman getting credit for her part in religion baffles most doesn't it?
A moment of maturity and graditude for a woman's ability to birth a child is what it is.
