I just installed windows XP as the second OS on my laptop. However, when I boot to XP, I find that I cant connect to the internet at all...there is no "wireless connection" tab in the network connections area of the control panel and no wireless icon in the system tray. Now, my other OS on this laptop is vista, and its working perfectly...wireless internet driver came preinstalled..
SO anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew how I can get the XP OS to start letting me connect wirelessly? Any help would be appreciated.

You will need to locate the appropriate driver for your wireless controller. Go into your Vista install, and then to the manufacturers website. Download the driver for XP, and then reboot to the XP install and install the driver you downloaded.

Look up your laptop on google to see what type of hardware you have. The next step is rather simple...going to google...searching for the correct driver/software for that type of device. Then you want to install that on the laptop. Even if it came preinstalled, I'm sure you could find software that will allow you to use it. If you can't find any, try going to network connections and letting windows configure your wireless network. You will need the driver regardless though...so get the driver from the instructions :) Good luck!

You must get XP Recovery disks from your laptop vendor to avoid driver problems, not a store-bought XP disk. << That's why your WiFi won't work.

TIP: The Vista Recovery disks may be ON the hard drive too, so Read The Friendly Manual FIRST to find out how to make your own Recovery disks, if it's not already too late.

Then, XP must be installed FIRST, then Vista.
