why doesn"t wine have a sell by date

Because essential it never really goes bad, it might turn into vinegar, but a sealed bottle either cork, palstic stopper or metal screw top will say fine for years, in the right conditions.

Red wine is better with age, white do not age as well, sparkling wines can lose there fizz. But it is all in the storage, stopper and the temparture they are ekpt in, cool dark and on there side it is unknown really, but in a warm bright place and upright, it is a less likely fact they will last as long.

I was a chef and wine club member for years, and my sister has a bottle of Dom Perignon I gave them over 20 years ago, vintage 1978???
