I am trying to get to Westhampton Beach from the Philadelphia area in New Jersey. I am just wondering how a guy in his 20's without a car can get there without making it a huge expense. I am trying to surprise my girlfriend, so I can't ask her how. As specific as possible would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I would say try the trains. You may need a cab or depending on how well you know her family, maybe one of them can pick you up at the trainstation. Also, travel off peak hours. You will save a lot more money. That and buying your ticket at Penn station. The trains increased the prices for the ticket sales on the trains. I think the difference is around 6-8 dollars more.

Amtrak to New York, Penn Station, LIRR(long island railroad)to Westhampton. The Amtrak will be around $100 and LIRR isn't more than $20 or so. Good luck.

Amtrack to LIRR

Amtrack to NYC and pick up Hampton Jitney Bus to the hamptons.

Rent a car. is probably the easiest.

Where are you staying? Ask the hotel that you are staying at.
