Have a steamshower that has a radio in it. When the radio is off, I can still here a spanish radio station. The company sent a new computer unit, which didn't fix the issue. The guy at Fry's Electronics said it is because the spanish radio stations use such strong frequencies, but he didn't have anything to sell me. I tried two RF chokes from Radio Shack on the wire from the computer unit to the speaker and it helped only a little bit. Any help is appreciated.

Sir:

There are lots of ways to solve this problem, but one simple fix will not do the trick. It will take several attempts to get it solved completely - old try , try , and try again approach.

Not sure what kind of RF Chokes you used from Radio Shack. However, if they are black ferrite material, you are on the right track.

Obtain some that are in the shape of a donut. Ideal choices will let you purchase several of each "core material" (they have different mixes of core material, and different sizes of donut cores. Get several of each. now unplug your speaker wires and wind the wire through the donut core again and again and again until you get as many turns as possible onto the core...then plug it back in and see what the result is. If the radio station is down in strength, make a second one and put them both in line...plug it back in...see if that made the radio station go down in strength even more...

Try placing a red or orange disk capacitor say 600 Volts DC at 0.005 MF directly across the speaker leads. Check the system for Radio Station interference now...better, worse, or no change??? Try a 0.01 MF capacitor directly across the leads...try it again... Try a 0.1 MF Capacitor directly across the leads...try again...

try combinations of the above...

There are wire wound RF Chokes you can get from Radio Shack. What you want is an RF Choke that is Pi Wound in several sections...try placing one in each speaker lead...test for problems from the interference...

Last possible cure...those disk capacitors I told you about...
this time try placing one from just one of the speaker leads to computer chassis ground. Test.. Try another of the capacitors, etc. always start with the smallest value first...
as in 0.1 MMF, 0.005 MF, then 0.05 MF, then 0.1 MF.

Somewhere along in there you will meet with success.

If not, change over to shielded leads and ground the chassis of your computer to a good earth ground with the shortest possible number 14 AWG copper lead.
