some of them standing there before him would not taste death before he returned, that his apostles would not finish preaching through Israel before he returned, and that the Pharises would see him return on a cloud of glory and power... yet here it is almost two thousand years later and all of the people he was talking to are DEAD?
Was Jesus lying to those people, saying things to them that he meant for some other people, more than two thousand years in the future? Or was Jesus what Jews would call a false prophet and false messiah?
That would explain why there are still arguments about which religion is right, the third temple has not been built, the Jews are still scattered throughout the world, there are still preachers telling people about their versions of god, and the Jewish Bible (100% Kosher, no Greek or Roman Pagan flavoring or aftertaste) has no mention of a trinity or God trying to prove that it's possible to fulfill what Jews have always fulfilled?
Is Jesus a fraud?

After all, his prophecies didn't come true and he didn't fulfill the original Hebrew prophecies for The Messiah, or any messiah or even Prophet for that matter. Since when did the Jewish God start impregnating virgins? What would be the point if His scriptures had already been laid out and they said that The Messiah would be born of a married Jewish couple, not an unmarried virgin? Since when did God go back on his word?
Think before you speak christians, there are several Jews on this very forum that can answer with true scriptures from the original Hebrew Bible and Oral scriptures.

Pastor art, yes he did. You should read your bible again, looking specifically for when Jesus is being questioned by the pharises... you know the verse, you know where it is. Stop playing dumb.

You won't get any sense out of the god-botherers on this one. I never have. They always skirt round the question, change the subject, or tell you you're going to hell. This prophecy is the single most important refutation of christianity there ever was, and I'm surprised it wasn't excised from the bible centuries ago.
Addendum:
If the prophecy has already been fulfilled and the Kingdom of God is already here, why on earth are all you idiots still banging on about the second coming? Shouldn't that be the third coming?
And since things are still as bad as they always were even though the Kingdom of God is here, doesn't that prove that jesus and god are entirely ineffectual?

Well Jesus also said the temple would be destroyed and rebuilt in 3 days but he was talking about his own body instead of the building. I don't believe Jesus is a liar. Either some of those apostles are still alive and preaching or he meant something else that we just don't understand. The miracles he did were real and he fulfilled many of the Old Testament prophecies.
Nobody on earth understands every word written in the Bible but you have to either believe it is all true and somewhat misunderstood or don't believe any of it at all.

No, it's not strange, and actually, that first prophecy was fulfilled. John was the last of the Apostles to die, and he DID see Christ return before he died: In Revelations.
Where does Jesus say that the Pharisees will see Him return?
As for the rest of your questions, which ARE good questions:
No. No, He fulfilled ALL the prophecies regarding the Messiah.
What third temple?
Yes, the Jews are still "scattered," but that's their choice. They have a nation to go to now.
And actually, there are some references in the Old Testament that COULD be construed as being about Jesus.

The bible was never meant to be taken literally. It has been translated over and over and over agin and then tweaked.
As for the prophecy being fulfilled...Jews believed that the He would be a King born of Jewish parents. Mary and Joseph were indeed married and were Jewish. When the Jews saw Jesus ride into town on a donkey, they refused to believe that a fisherman on a donkey was a king. They don't dispute that Jesus was a Jew, or that he was a great man. They just thought He would be of earthly royalty. He is the King. He is God. Their perception of what constitutes a king was skewed. There have been and are many frauds in this world, but Jesus is the real deal and not a fraud.

You are wrong on several accounts. Paul never met Jesus in human form. Jesus revealed himself to Paul with a bright light and talked to him, asking him why he was persecuting Jesus. Jesus blinded him for 3 days until a disciple of Christ opened Paul's eyes and baptized him. Paul was well educated in jewish law and Jesus knew that Paul could do great things for the Christian cause. Jesus is God and He knew exactly what Paul would do. 4 of the 12 that you mentioned wrote about Jesus. Jesus knew what was going to be written and who would write about Him. He knew that the bible was going to be created and he knew what was going to be in it. Because he is God. John wrote Revelation. All of the books in the Bible were written by people who were directed by the Holy Spirit on what to write and how it was written. If you ever read the bible you would be astonished on how well each book corresponds within the whole book. The information in it is too perfect for mere humans to write what was in it without the direction from the Holy Spirit.

Let's see what Jesus really said:
Matthew 16:28
I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."
And then let's see what occured in the very next chapter:
Matthew 17:2
There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.
Now let's turn to Mark's Gospel:
Mark 9:1
And he said to them, "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power."
In the very next verse we read about the Transfiguration.
Mark 9:2
[ The Transfiguration ] After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them.
So no, Jesus is not a fraud.
Jesus words were fulfilled less than a week later.
And then again, nearly all of them where witnesses of the Resurrection of Jesus.
Jesus never told them his 2nd coming would occur during their life times.

It never ceases to amaze me how a confirmed athiest can dig all through the Word of God, and cite a scripture here, and another one there, out of context, and make them seem to mean one thing, but when read " in context" with what came before & what comes after, it means something altogether different. If one " chooses " not to believe in God, that person has to come up with something that makes him/her feel better about the life style he/she has chosen. And as for Jesus being a fraud, I think you will soon find out, because I believe He is coming back soon to take His Church with Him back to heaven. I really pray that you have made up your mind to follow Him before that day. The Bible says ".... every knee shall bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. " ' Every' includes YOU !!!

God is unbelievably patient. He wishes for NO ONE to perish without knowing Him,you included. Over 300 prophecies have come to pass. The odds of dismissing these as coincidences aren't even measurable. Israel becoming a nation again in 1948 is one the biggest prohechies come true. (sure theyre scattered, but this prophecy fulfilled their homeland is theirs again)
Amen to pastorart below :)

I personally believe Jesus was a prophet, not the immortal son of god. Just a man who was very pious, very loving, and had followers who were grieved and in disbelief when he was crucified. The "church" of the time decided to take advantage of his followers love and respect for him to turn him into a martyr with divine powers. The medieval church was a nasty, sinful organization that's only concern was wealth and power.

Stop listening to religious leaders, and study the facts. You can't understand the bible with the natural mind, or it would be just another book. Pray to JHWH and the truth shall set you free.
