One should. As Buddhists we are taught to be inquisitive about everything, and to never take any teacher, teaching, concept, or theory on faith alone.

The Chinese took over the Dally Llama recently in an all out war and attack because the Buddhist's disagree with the Taoist views. IDK, they seem very similar.
