If you had stopped at the end of your first paragraph, it would have been wonderful. You go on to say it makes no difference if you are Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, or whatever, God has sent prophets. Among those prophets you include Krishna , Jesus & Mohammed in the same grouping of prophets. How mistaken one is to say Jesus Christ was nothing more than a mere prophet. He IS the Son Of the Living God. Jesus said : " I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father except through me " John 14 : 6 . Except for the prophets that God mentions in His Word, all other prophets are false ones, including Mohammed, or any others you mentioned. Your salvation depends on what you do about Jesus Christ.

I agree with you on some points.God is more concerned with whats in our hearts than what religious book we read from. There is so much strife and hatred in the world.Believers should be able to find enough common ground, come together, and attempt to ease some of the misery. Not add to it.Religion has not made the world a better place.I believe in and love God , but i have to admit ,science has done more to improve man's life than any religion.I know, science has come up with inventions that have made it worse, but on the whole, science has made it a better place to live. Most wars have not been started by scientists arguing over the theory of relativity. Many have been fought over religious beliefs. One could make the argument that man has progressed technologically, but spiritually we have not moved a centimeter forward.

I am sorry - but you are the one who seems unaware and uneducated.
All religions are NOT the same. You would know this if you studied them.
Therefore, the "god" or "gods" in all religions are not the same.
Mohammad, Joan of Arc, Mother Teresa, The Dhali Lama, etc. DID NOT all believe in the same "god".
You must know that in some "religions", there is no "god".
It is much more than "cultural" differences.
Are you saying you believe in burning a prospective bride because the family did not provide a proper dowery?
Or that you believe in worshiping animals, trees and stones as "gods" ??

If you say crap like that, every religious denomination will disagree with you.
Besides, there turns out to be NO God, NO spirit, and NO soul, and you must live your life accordingly. It will give you MORE of an incentive to do right, right now. You have no "spare" life or "spare" planet. If you're religious, you might get a pinch of morality but mixed in with a lot of invisible ghost stories! So do right, abandon religion.
As for cultural differences, there's only ONE culture that matters, the advanced Western culture sitting in a flood of simple information technology. Our opinions on religion matter more than some East Asian plowing behind the butt-end of a yak. And a goodly portion of the more educated people in this culture abandon religion entirely. If religion had any truth, you'd expect the proportion of religious people to stay the same as they go up the education ladder.
But they're not, which is a judgment on the validity of religion itself: that it is NOT valid the smarter you get! So think about THAT!

One thing you may want to focus on to learn and practice in
a more nonsectarian manner is the Uddhava Gita. The Uddhava Gita is a summation of the essence of the Bhagavad Gita, and so it is eminently suitable for nonsectarian, universal teaching which is the essence of Hinduism.
Here is a short summation of the Uddhava Gita which is found in the Srimad Bhagavatam (also known as Bhagavata Purana) 11.7:
EPILOGUE - LORD KRISHNA'S LAST SERMON
At the end of another long sermon comprising of more than one thousand verses, disciple Uddhava said: "O Lord Krishna, I think the pursuit of God as You narrated to Arjuna (in the Bhagavad Gita), and now to me, is very difficult indeed, for most people; because it entails control of unruly senses. Please tell me a short, simple, and easy way to God-realization." Lord Krishna upon Uddhava's request gave the essentials of Self-realization as follows:
· Do your duty, to the best of your ability, for Me without worrying about the outcome.
· Remember Me at all times. (Note that this is the point of chanting things like the mahamantra - Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Kare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.)
· Perceive that God is within every living being. Mentally bow down to all beings and treat all beings equally.
· Perceive through the activities of mind, senses, breathing, and emotions that the power of God is within you at all times, and is constantly doing all the work using you as a mere instrument and a trustee.
I recommend the International Gita Society as they are nonsectarian, offer affordable translations of the Bhagavad Gita with commentary, and can help teach you the basics without having to spend a lot of money or submit to some guru you know nothing about:
http://www.gita-society.com/
http://www.gitainternational.com/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/international_gita_society
They also have an online Gita study and discussion forum:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gita-talk/
I hope these are helpful!

sorry but people have been trying to pull this world peace thing since the beginning of time and you can not do it. it is impossible to bring all these together because they are all completely different and contradict each other. there is only one way and one true god and it is through jesus christ and no other. how can you bring the teachings of jesus together with these when he said himself I am THE way THE truth and THE life NO MAN comes to the father except by ME.

Are u serious? you say god sent messengers such as Mohammed, a man who married have and had intercourse with children and killed countless jews and also preached to kill anyone who does not follow the muslim religion?? does that sound like someone god would send to spread hes word? No Mohammed was a fake who gained power by conning people into believing he was a messenger from God he made up any old rubbish and the people where gullible enough to belive him and lead a great life because of it.

Yes.This is from the Quran "Those who believe (the Muslims) and those who follow the Jewish faith (followers of prophet Moses), and the Christians (helpers of Jesus) and the sabiens( who lived before), and ANY who believe in God and the last day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Sustainer: On them shall be no fear, nor should they grieve" (2:62, 5:69).
I'm Muslim, though I might not agree with all, I respect all religions or non religion. So lets all get along.
