It hurts to sit and stand. Sneezing and coughing are painful, especially while sitting. I didn't fall, lift anything heavy, or anthing else to cause it. I"ve been to a doctor and gotten accupuncture; its better but still hurts. Do you have any idea what might be wrong? (And what can help?)

You need to see an M. D. Not an acupuncturist. Eastern medicine is terrific, but allopathic medicine is what you need sometimes. Good luck! Hope it's nothing serious.

Go to a GI doctor and get a colonoscopy to see if there's anything in your GI Tract that could be causing you such pain. Good luck. And maybe sit on one of those "donuts" for the time being

You need to see a medical doctor because many times people develop cysts on the tailbone and that could be the source of your pain.

Get checked for hemroids. I had the same thing, and that was the last resort. Same thing, no stress or strain caused them, but I had two. They also healed up quickly. Strange but true.
