It actually happened to me yesterday (July 14) at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas. She was a modest fine-looking woman. I just responded courteously and wished her good luck.

"Oh hi! Yeah! I'm fine thanks! How are you?"
All in an "I didn't expect to meet you here" tone of voice.
Then if she asks about your family, or truly does seem to know you, and you can't for the life of you remember her, or the name of her husband or if you've even met her before, just look at your watch and say "oh no! I have to go, nice seeing you again" smile and walk off.

Well with a kind smile if she's asking. I would say "Forgive me since I do not know you, but wher do you think you may know me from." Perhaps you may have a twin then she could introduce you. I have met someone that someone else thought was me and the resemblence was striking the crazy thing was this person was born on the same day and year. Very eerie feeling.

I usually get that because I'm so bad with names and faces. I just respond with "Oh really, where at?" (of course with smile on my face) and when they answer that question and I really do remember them, then the conversation continues. If I don't, I just say, "Oh I'm sorry, I don't remember" or "I have a bad memory." Then ask for details. Just be pleasant in general.

Say 'Oh, I feel awful saying this but I have a real bad memory for names and faces. Tell me again where we met?' then make sure you're very charming for the rest of the conversation so they are not offended.

If I can't figure out who they are I ask them where we met. I have a jumbled brain. Two Kids, Pets, Lots to do, so I let them know not to be offended, that I am just horrible putting faces with names.

I would just reply by saying "Hi how are you doing?",the last thing you want to do to social people when they act with courtesy is ignore them. That gives off the impression as if your nasty, ignorant Etc.Just remeber social people are really, really stupid and take things as they see them and never think about anything.
