Is there a way to change the way that folders are listed so that it is more like the way they are actually on the computer? (that is to say.. more like a windows explorer kind style of browsing). I have 1000s of photos and folders of photos, and I find the way folders are listed on picasa2 to be impossible to navigate. Also, is there a way to open a single photo in picasa2 by right-clicking on the file? At the moment the only way I have found to locate a single photo is to go into picasa2 and then go to 'file/add file' -- which will then let me browse using a normal folder system. Am I missing something?

If you look right next to the word "library" on the left side, which is just below the IMPORT button, there's the "create album button", then there are two buttons together: "Flat folder view" and "simplified tree view". It's usually on "flat folder view". You can drag and drop them into albums to reorganize them as you see fit and create as many albums as you want for "logical" organization.

If you want to locate a specific folder, enter it to the search box on the right edge just below the main menu bar. (Right of "Gift CD" button) Enter a few words and it'll jump to the directory and/or description (if any you've entered).

If that doesn't quite work for you, I'd recommend FastStone Image Viewer, which has a more "traditional" view by directory.

Select the photo you want to move; it will appear in the "Photo Tray" at the bottom of your screen.

In the top menu, go to "File > Move to New Folder." In the "Properties" box, enter the name and date for the new folder. Click "OK."

This will create a new folder with the selected photo on your computer.
How do I sort my photos in my Picasa?

You can change the sort order of all of your folders in Picasa. Just click View > Sort Folder List >, then you can select by Date Created, Recent Changes, or Name. Selecting Name will arrange your files alphabetically in descending order and will remove the year markers.

You can sort your photos within an Album or Folder using the Sort By option uder Folder > Sort by. You can sort your photos by Name, by Date, or by Size.
You should be able to right click any photo and the view and edit option will appear hope this helps good luck!
