i am having really bad stings and my cousin said that the salt water cuts you!!!! and they really hurt and we went to the sand bar and we hung out there for a long time and now im stinging all over my body! are they cuts or is it just the sting of the salt water?? and do you know a way to get rid of them?

Sounds a little strange but if you shaved before going into the salt water then that is what is causing the burning. Their are also sand fleas (don't know the scientific name for them) that bite constantly. Take a good shower and get all the salt water off of you.

Does the stings look like welts?
If the skin is raised, and very red and painful, you may have ran into some type of jellyfish.
Jellyfish stings are usually treated with a diluted vinegar solution.
You can use the vinegar full strength since it is only 3 % anyway. or dilute with a little water in a awashcloth and applied over the stinging skin for a few minutes. Donot rub into skin.

i would recommend going to a doctor to go get it checked out. you could have gotten stung by some animal in the ocean. or you could have rubbed up against something that you didnt realize you did. go to a doctor and they can assess what is wrong with you.
