Anger is a term for the emotional aspect of aggression, as a basic aspect of the stress response in animals whereby a perceived aggravating stimulus "provokes" a counterresponse which is likewise aggravating and threatening of violence.Very mild types of anger are typically described as "distaste," "displeasure", or "irritation," while "rage" refers to an extreme degree of anger associated with a loss of calmness or discipline (in the case of human conduct).

the emotion of instant displeasure on account of something evil that presents itself to our view. In itself it is an original susceptibility of our nature, just as love is, and is not necessarily sinful. It may, however, become sinful when causeless, or excessive, or protracted (Matt. 5:22; Eph. 4:26; Col. 3:8). As ascribed to God, it merely denotes his displeasure with sin and with sinners (Ps. 7:11).

Bottleing up anger all the time is what is making your blood pressure go up! My advice- take up a martial art or kick boxing or something like that. Give yourself a positive outlet for your anger. If you do get angry, go somewhere where you can be by yourself, set a timer for 3-5 minutes, pound a pillow, jump up and down (my favorite), throw your shoe at a tree (my best friend's favorite), or do something else that lets you do SOMETHING but does not harm you, others, or other people's property. Then, after the timer goes off breathe in for 4 counts, hold it for 4 counts, let it out for 4 counts while imagining the anger leaving your body, hold for 4 counts, repeat until you are at least fairly calm and sane. You don't have to be totally calm and sane- no one is, but at least fairly calm and sane. Then put your shoes back on and dance around to your favorite happy song, then read your favorite story from the bible. Good luck! And have a happy smiley day!

Oh, I just love this question. I gotta tell ya, the best definition I ever heard for anger came from an X-priest, addiction specialist and author - Ernie Larson.

His definition is: Anger is an emotional response to a perceived injustice. Anger always involves a justice issue.

It is also important to note the two words "perceived injustice"
This leaves room for the fact the injustice you perceive may not be based in fact, but your perception. It can also be based in fact.

The key to dealing with anger is to (1) figure out what the injustice is. (2) Ask yourself if your emotional reaction is tied to the present injustice or are you over-reacting because this injustice brings up feelings about past injustice, and the present injustice is getting - both barrels. (3) While anger is a fine and appropriate emotion one has to make sure that one behaves in appropriate ways when expressing anger.

Read the book on this subject or see a doctor.

You are really ahead of the game because you are realising this anger and you are admitting it.

Since you are not in denial you can control it faster and batter.

In the mean time read this book, "How to make friends and influence the people"

anger is how you feel about something..

like your girlfriend cheated on you (no offense, just giving an example), and the feeling you will feel is angry, and you will probably have the motive to kill that guy or you will be very furious..
