There is a spiritual war going on in my head constantly between God and Satan and I am fighting it alone
I feel Satan is winning. I have a strong urge to destroy myself.
I'm on my own all the time. I've tried antipsychotic meds and antidepressants but none seem to work. I had a psychiatrist but when he asked if it was helping I told the truth and said no and he crossed me off. He couldn't help me as he didn't have the biblical knowledge to grasp what I was going through.
I've talked to a priest briefly but they just see me as schizophrenic and don't really have much time for all my questions and psychiatrists see me as religiously deluded and just dish out tablets that don't work.
I pray because Jesus is the only one who can help me but I can't feel his love anymore. I feel abandoned by him.
Can anyone help me?

Consider giving 1-800-NEWLIFE a call. They (used to be the Minrith-Meyer clinic) Newlife offers numerous Christian Counseling and treatment possibilities. They have a nation-wide Christian Counseling referral network.

The Christian counselor I saw would have been an excellent source, fully competant and capable of responding to the "war" you speak of.

Consider speaking with another, more knowledgeable Christian pastor or seminary professor.

My friend, I was in your position once so I know what you are going through. Your main problem is that you are alone too much. Nobody needs to be alone. You must make an effort to meet other people, to listen to their worries, to realise that everyone has problems, and to care about someone other than yourself. Join a club at your church, take an evening class, join a tennis or sports club, or volunteer for a few hours work in a charity shop. Maybe this is God's way of telling you that you should be out there helping people worse off than you are. Do something NOW, i.e. within the next twenty-four hours. Life is for living, not for thinking. Do good for others and Satan will have no power over you.

Brother you are truley going threw a war right now. Let me show you how to win this. You have to first get rid of all these things in your house attracting these negative entities ok, because they feed of of it. Once your house is cleansed you will feal a weight lifted off of your shoulders. Then you must bless your hose yourself. There is a God their is a son and his name is Jesus and there is a Holy Spirit. If you are ever physically attacted, emotionally, mentally or any other way say the word Jesus and watch yourself win. P.S. Hang in there you are a true Spiritual Warror. Keep reading your Bible and study more on the subject. It's the ones who dont know and don't beleive this happens that are in serious trouble.

God IS with you and you are NEVER alone.
I understand what you are going through and I truly believe that you just didn't see the right priest.
My Pastor and MANY that I know would be more then happy to help someone out...
I really think that you need to seek some spiritual guidance from a pastor/priest anyone with lots of biblical knowledge.
For what its worth, I will pray for you tonight when I go to bed.

God Bless You and watch over You!!!

Some people that use the term "going on in my head" are giving a real description of what they feel is really going on inside. For them it's like forces outside are trying to take control of the living person inside.

This may or may not be your situation, but if it is then I suggest looking to see if the symptoms of spirit possession seem to fit what you're experiencing. There's lots of online resources so don't jump to conclusions before doing some research.

I've also found that people with these symptoms also benefit from counseling. These two are not mutually exclusive.

First of all let me start off by saying that I am a very spiritual person and a christian and a therapist.
With that said you said that you have a battle going on in your head between God and Satan. You also said the priests see you as having schizophrenia. I KNOW THIS: People struggle with questions of good and evil all the time. I also know that individual individuals living with schizophrenia have an uncommonly high rate of religious thoughts as part of their symptoms. How much war is your spirituality and how much might be related to schizophrenia I do not know. I do know there are a lot of mental health professionals who are very comfortable dealing with both spiritual and mental health issues. Seek one out.
In any case, know this, you are not alone. God does walk with you and during the times you feel most abandoned he is most likely carrying you on his shoulder. In over 30 years of clinical experience I have also come to appreciate that God has a special place in his heart for individuals dealing with mental illness and addiction.

Side note: Mother Theresa of Calcutta often wrote that she felt alone and abandoned by God. Those times were challenging for her and her spirituality. During those those times she would continue to believe despite the frustration.

Hi, I have been a Christian for a number of years - at 17 I started getting symptoms of depression and eventually was diagnosed with bipolar disorder with psychosis. Whenever I am poorly I think that it is spiritual and find it very hard to know which is faith and which is illness. At the time it is very very very hard to know even if it seems obvious to outsiders. I now take antipsychotics as well as other meds and although I am not "cured" I live a good quality of life. It is very very confusing but please seek the help of both medical professionals AND a supportive church who often find it difficult to know how to handle folks who aren't always well. All the best my friend, Rach <><

don't destroy yourself that would let those that hate you win.

try reading "The New World Translation of the holy Scriptures"
in it they say at the back: Satan ruled the world as a god.
so in a way satan is God, meaning each angelic man probably had his own realms until Man gained his freedom, if they did.
but bible says god did not make the future world for angels but for MAN. that's apparently Me ie a IVI (sealed together) AN pronounced HAND which is Me(e=hand/arm) i have that IVI sealed together seal on my LFT arm. And i could have been a God, until NICEA council or whatever one installed someone else as God.
so what if modern preists are wrong and Jesus died and the Hells Angels now rule the world? Would that be bad for you?

There is a program called the Christ Life Solution which may prove to be a godsend for you. Give them a call, and see if there are groups meeting in your area. Mail them at information@christlifesolution.org

In the meantime, rest well in the knowledge that, as a child of God, you ARE protected. You need to CLAIM that heritage repeatedly. Satan has NO POWER over you anymore. That battle was won on Calvary.

Also, do not give up on or discount the utility of medication. If one antidepressent/anti psychotic combo didn't work for you, keep trying until you find one that does. In addition, psychotherapy is ESSENTIAL. Find a qualified Christian counselor in your area who can help you through this.

You CAN make it through this. You WILL make it through this. It is a difficult road, but you can walk it.

Hang in there,
~M~

you are perfectly normal to feel this way, this is sth we all have to fight one time or another & don't even say you think the devil is winning...I don't think there's a devil as such but there are daek forces which could attack us...I'm sorry for the stupoid priest you met, some of them are not really priests but have chosen this job for God knows what..they forget that they're there to help people & people like that make me sick...
anyways, I have found this prayer is very powerful & will help you,
Dear God,please put the white light of the Holy Spirit around me to protect me from all darkness...
do this whenever you feel the need to..it has really helped me as the devil or dark forces donot lke the light & will leave you alone..
(also if you burn candles or turn on the lights even it'll help)...

there's a church which I love &they're very helpful & they have really helped me..they have centres in different parts of UK
if you're interested please email me from my homepage....
I don't think Jesus Christ will ever abandon you...maybe your faith in him has weakened...he will never abandon you...
