Squats are one of the single greatest exercises in weight lifting.
Squats work the posterior chain muscles and the entire core, making them one of the key exercises that recruit the most muscles in the body at one time. It is a natural movement pattern that all humans perform. Drop a toy in front of a 2 year old and they don't bend down to pick it up, they squat.
Most adults in western society lose the hip and hip flexor mobility to squat because we sit in chairs. Regaining the mobility and learning to squat without injuring yourself is key to a healthy lower back, spine, and knees.
Squat heavy, squat deep, and squat often.

LOL your grammar is terrible! Anyway people do squats because squats are what people call a "compound" excercise which means it targets more than one leg muscle. Basically squats are a complete upper leg excercise. Some people like myself do squats with weights (2 15 pound dumbells, in my case) to try to improve jumping ability for basketball.

Squats help develop the muscles in your legs. You can develop the front and back of your thighs, strengthen your calves, it challenges the core a little bit as well.

Most people though do squats either to build nice sexy toned legs and buns or for those who are athletes squats are great for power and speed.
