No. It would not be right. Is your professor pressuring you into dating? If so he has most likely done this before with someone from an earlier class (perhaps someone from each class). College students would often do anything for a good grade in a tough class, or any class for that matter. If you really like him you should wait until you have finished his class and see if he still wants to date you.

Most colleges and unis have some kind of rule [sometimes written, sometimes not] about professors getting involved with their students--it can get pretty messy if there's an implication that the student is trading, er, favours for a good grade. If a professor comes on to a student with that kind of trade in mind, it gets right into potential charges of sexual harassment [various Federal laws in the US cover this]. Professors are in a position of authority, so any involvement with a student is a danger to their job under those laws...and basically not worth it from the student's point of view either. If you really like him/her, don't mess with him/her... particularly if you have a class with him.

there is a saying...".you never potty where you eat." well that means about the same as" no mixing business with pleasure". no you should not date your professor. we have boundaries and limitations in life and this is one of them. this person decides your grades/// this person is suspose to have a professional relationship with you. once you graduate or no longer a student at college do what you want. unless of course, if either one of you are married. then that is a totally new question. the answer is NO.

The policy of most colleges is that if a professor dates a student they lose their job, but maybe he cares enough about you to lose his job. As long as he isn't currently your professor so that their isn't a power inequity I say go with your and his heart.

IF and only IF you are not taking any of his classes. But be sure to check with your college to determine what their policy is toward professors dating students. Don't ruin his career by dating him in violation of college rules. Make sure it's allowed by his employer.

Good Luck

no, it's an inappropriate power relationship.

he is a mentor and teacher and using this relationship to get into your pants. I don't care if he's your soulmate. There's no reason you can't stay in touch and date after his class is done or after you graduate, whatever feels appropriate to you.

yeah, i know there is a charm to having someone you look up to like that interested in you. but you will eventually see how wrong it is for him to play with those boundaries...he could lose his job and career. and if he is willing to take that risk with one girl, how many others has he done it with?

but hey i know there are the occasional success stories.

Are you still at college? Then the answer is no. Your prof probably dates a lot of the students. If you have left college, then go ahead (remember, your prof has probably and will continue to date students). I would report your prof.

first off...wow! if u really like him you can wait until ur done with his class and see if u still feel the same way. if he says no to you who cares? if u cant wait that long and u need to know now its probably lust, which u can take care of by going for the one night stand, which can help ur self esteem and ur grade. but careful tho, just think about how many girls could be in this situation with this guy year after year after year....make him wear a condom for sure!

Sure, if you're of legal age and wanna, you'll score great grades even if you do get a name for yourself in the meantime for shaggin your professor.

If you're not legal yet, then no - he'll lose his job and if anything goes wrong, you'll get **** grades. Besides he'd be charged and wind up in jail and therefore would have to be a wanker to go out with you or any other student in the first place.

Yes, you may do that, but do not wait too much from this relationship, this is only an easy affair, enjoy it. And do not gossip since you may make serious problems to him.
